How about the plug for the injector harness into the valve covers? I know I did the quarter (25 cent) fix on my 7.3 that I have and have never had a problem since. The CAT in my service truck would shut down from a failing oil sender. Took me awhile to find it cause I thought it was the pump itself.
So some trucks have too many options. Mine has the built in phone, I have never used it. And now after a long trip it wont shut up. Any time I open the doors or start the truck it says, "phone unavailable" before it will do anything. It is VERY annoying! I unplugged the info fuse hoping it would...
That is a good low mileage transplant. I've been looking at destroked and fordcummins for my swap to get the kits with the adapter ect, to make my swap alot easier.

I would remove it and heat it. Or you could make a threaded screw on adapter and cut the side of the console and have it stick through the side. You would probably want it flat so you would not have anything in the way of your feet or leg.
