New LP installed! AC Delco # 158 for a 93 GM 6.5! 4 psi at idle! Open bleeder screw on filter and plenty of fuel comes out and the truck stays running! I hope this is the end of my problem! Will keep you all updated! THANKS to ALL who replied! Keith
Matt, thanks for the info on the LP. Hopefully KOI auto parts has one tomorrow in stock, then I will look for the receipt from Autozone to get my money back. Again, Thanks, Keith
Tested LP with a light and it was on for about three seconds then went out. After the truck started it stayed on the whole time but my truck vibrates alot so I could not tell if it was still running.
LP failed as did my test drive! Ran great for about ten minutes and as soon as I hooked up my trailer and pulled onto the road it quit! Still no codes or engine light. What brand LP does anybody recommend? Mine was replaced under warranty on 1/28/09 from Autozone and I will take it back to get...
Found it and it looked good, no corrosion on the prongs. Any way of testing it? The fuel shutoff solenoid stayed in the open position while hooked up to a battery charger for an hour and a half but I took the plunger out anyway. Going for a test drive!
Testing the Fuel Shutoff now with it hooked to a battery charger. The plunger moves in on hook up and out on disconnect so I am leaving it hooked up for a while to simulate driving. I presume it is always in the "open" mode when the truck is running so I am trying to see if it gets hot and...
Air leaks are common, drop fuel tank and check out steel lines..... check rubber hoses around filter assembly to IP. Steel lines are good and ALL rubber hoses were replaced when IP was replaced 7/11/07 with hose clamps on all ends so they...
I pulled the tank about two years ago and cleaned it out and replaced the fuel sending unit with a new one, sock included and try to buy fuel at newer places so I know they have new tanks in the ground.
I'm changing out the OP switch as my Oil Pressure Gauge Fluctuates and I think I might have bought a cheap one back in Dec. 08 when I replaced it. I was going to do the same thing you did as far as the ground to pump and heat sink goes. The PMD did NOT come from SS Diesel. It was replaced under...
I thought of that and I am changing out the OP Switch with a Delco unit from the Dealership even though I replaced it back in Dec. 08. Yes I did change the Harness and I will jumper the ground to the pump AND the heat sink for added ground. Thanks for the reply, Keith
Problem: Explain your problem in concise language (ie: Cranks but won’t fire). Runs o.k.,then starts stumbling and eventually quits. Does not make a difference if it is hot or cold, rain or shine. After sitting a while it will start back, run fine, then start the symptoms all over again...
Just wanted to let you know Stanadyne has a NEW PMD with a Higher Heat rating. The "old style" is Black and the "new style" is Gray. Stanadyne has changed the Harness end that plugs into the PMD. They changed the shape of it AND the resistor so you can't use the "old style" harness on the "new...
