@ racer55, what ever paste came with the PMD, it is on a SS Diesel Supply Heat Sink under the front bumper, I ordered a Dorman PMD as their site says it has a Lifetime Warranty and hopefully this is the LAST one I purchase!
@ jrsavoie, Yes to the Grey Stanadyne, originally replaced under Warranty from a old style black one purchased from Diesel Injection in Cincinnati, Oh.!@ hiredgun58, $355.00 for a Dorman with a Lifetime Warranty. I relocated the PMD on a Heat Sink under the front bumper over 3 years ago with a...
Anybody ever use a Dorman Products PMD? Their website says they have a Lifetime Warranty and D-Tech only has a 1 Year Warranty! I will NOT use another Stanadyne ever again, Grey in color or not! Thank You for all replies, Keith
Anybody ever have a problem with starter bolts breaking? One broke and I could not get it out of the block so I put a new one from the Dealer in with washers to shorten it about a 1/4 in. and now it is broken too! Any ideas on how to get the broken pieces out?
Yes, I do but don't send anything until I return the original first as money is tight this time of year! I 'll PM you when I am ready to send it. Thanks,Keith
I'll keep my stanadyne resistor but return your stanadyne PMD and purchase a D-Tech PMD,#9 Resistor and the six foot cable to mount under the front bumper on my heatsink where it is mounted now!
I have the 14 bolt full floater with 10.5 Ring gear and limited slip. I want one for my 96 but will it work with the Factory Parking Brake Cables as I just replace ALL of them?
I'll keep my Grey Stanadyne 6ft. Cable from you but return the Grey Stanadyne under Warranty and buy the D-Tech/Cable and #9 Resistor without the Heatsink, how much is the difference?
But It seems to me like the Stanadyne IS the problem and I am willing to spend more Money on a Cable/D-Tech/#9 Resistor Combo if it will stop this from happening again! That way I will have The D-Tech Package and as emergency back-up, the Stanadyne Package.
Not your fault it failed but I am trying to check everything possible as I don't want this to happen in another month! Also,I am curious in the price difference of the D Tech and a 6 ft. Cable for it. Can I use my Stanadyne #9 resistor with it or will I have to buy another for the D Tech?
14.79V may be a little high, does it keep going up with RPM? You can run a scanner while driving it, or just have someone rev and hold the engine at 2000rpm while you test it. I'll have my Wife hold the Accelerator Pedal...
Test ran the truck today, ran fine! I guess I had another bad PMD! Picked up the Lawn Trailer from my Sister-in-laws house and brought it home for Mowing Season and the truck ran fine!
With an install kit, and resetting the pop's,, I left $32.50 and $48.00 lighter.
New Delphi's 2200Psi,,, Ready for the install, total of $195.50 [/FONT]
PRICELESS!
14.69 volts with negative probe on battery post closest to Alternator and positive probe on battery cable coming from the back of the Alternator, truck set on fast idle at 1100 rpm's!
Do you have someone close by with another 6.5 truck you can test the PMD on?
It is very high odds against two new Stanadynes going bad on the same truck. I wonder if something is frying them?
No! I am the only 6.5 Owner of all my friends! Most own the Z71 1/2 ext. cab shortbed Chevy's!
Stanadyne! I bought it from you in February. Returned the Gray Stanadyne from Diesel Injection(purchased in May of 09) to them for a Warranty exchange and that is the one under the front bumper now! I wish there was a way to test them by themselves. Diesel Injection to me I would have to bring...
