To use ether properly, you *should* have someone cranking the engine while another person gives a quick whiff to the air cleaner... If that is scary, use WD-40....

Disable the glows and give it a small whiff of ether....see if it will catch...

Hope you didn't toast the bearings.... We had an old 6.5 that blew the oil cooler lines on the highway and by the time we shut the engine off and coasted to the side of the road, the damage was done....needed a new engine. Hope the truck is treating you well besides the age...

IIRC there is a weep hole in the back of the solenoid....I think....been a while since I have had to look at an IP...

You and I both know that the fuel solenoid is what lives under the 'rubber boot'. Most likely a seal leak...

Chad - if that made no difference, then there may be bad wiring to the connector...strip the wire loom back until you find it....

You need to resolve the coolant temp sensor issue. It is causing the GP light, the not shifting into OD, the noisy engine, and the smoke.... When the ECM believes that it is cold, it tries to go easy on the engine. Fix the sensor issue and your problems will disappear. There is...

The theft deterrant is the least of your problems... If you spray in ether, and the engine is rotating (engaging the starter), the engine will fire up regardless of your IP, injectors, electronics, etc. This is starting to sound like a broken record....test the compression!

Sounds like what mine did with a gelled up fuel filter....
