Matt, take a tapemeasure, get your height at the bottom of the mount, give the bolt 3 turns, should get about 3/8" depending on how bad the bars are getting from age. I have never heard of or seen a broken t-bar. I have replaced a few due to age, at some point they wear out just like anything...
Factory in dash nav on the 06, Garmin in the others. Saves me time, I still go "my way" and let her grump though, my Wife tells me its the only woman I ever listen to ):h
Matt, how much have you cranked the t bars? If you are close to stock, 4-6 turns they will help to a point, if you really need to jack up the front air bags are the cats buttt...

Matt, the issue with Any ATF is its cold flow properties. Spend the $12 bucks for 2 quarts of plow oil, fix your leaky seal and don't worry about your plow failing when you need it the most. I have been plowing for 20 years and 90% of the issues we had were fluid related, since we switched to...
Matt, Normaly comes right off, need a BIG wrench though LOL I replace the rod when I do the seals, then you are back to OEM fit and you should get many more years of service out of the unit.
