Yup, that'll do it. When I mounted my 235/85's at Christmas, I reset my DRAC according to those instructions. Like you, I found that my 'answer' was sorta between two choices. I picked the nearest one and set up the jumpers per instructions. Result: My speedo/odo are less than 1 mile off...
Check your specs to make sure your boost setting is correct for the Engh chip.
When I installed my Heath GL4 last month, Bill was very specific about boost pressure. I had my manual boost controller set too low. (I had just installed the chip and was still 'adjusting'.) When I got the boost...
x2 I use my dually as a daily driver, which means it spends a chunk of time rolling empty. Smoothing out the harsh ride would be GREAT!
Since I brew my own biodiesel, it's actually cheaper to drive the dually than to drive our Nissan Altima. :D
Several weeks ago, one of my hoses started leaking on the metal line itself. Seems that a bracket rubbed a small hole in the line. Naturally, I discovered this at mom & dad's house in OKC. About 325 miles from home. The puddle didn't seem too big. So, I headed to the house, stopping...
Yup, the R4 (Radial 4-cylinder) is NOT a strong design. Steel rings running in aluminum cylinders. Anybody remember the Vega engine? :nonod::nonod: And that was with the new units. Remans were totally useless right out of the box. Seal leaks, piston rattle and metal mush usually occurred...
'Nuther thing the pressure control solenoid does: it allows for wear to the clutch assemblies. The engine/powertrain computer 'learns' what is needed to provide solid shifts. As the clutch packs wear, the PCS ups the line pressure to maintain solid clutch contact and prevent slipping. This...
Actually, it's designed to replace only the pressure control solenoid (force motor). Based on signals from your PCM/ECM, the pressure control solenoid varies line pressure and this affects shift feel. On our 4L80's, the PCS takes the place of the throttle valve or vacuum modulator.
It's one of the first things I install. Two reasons: 1) Saves drain plug threads. No more tightening/loosening and the potential for overtorquing or stripping. Also, no more drips. 2) Simplified oil changes - flip a positive-lock lever, the valve opens and the oil flows out. Flip it back to...

How'd you do your valve covers? I REALLY like the way they came out. Also, are the lighter colored pieces all the same color? Some look silver and some look slightly 'Detroit Green'. Is this my browser, or did you come up with an incredibly cool powder coat choice?
Ahhhhh.... Music to my ears. :D
I called Bill Heath last week to discuss the difference between the two 'GL' chips. My truck is fairly heavy (6500# and I plan on installing a transfer tank and a hydraulic liftgate - another 1,000# or so), and I figured the GLE was the way to go. After...
Buddy - sorry for the delay in responding. As Smithville and Scwhind have already pointed out, the pulley ID is 62mm. If the belt is on, you can measure the rim OD. At the outermost edge of the pulley rim, you should see 66mm, 3.575", or a shade over 3 9/16", depending on what you're using...
Best, most accurate way is a new pulley. I purchased a new alternator from Pep B*yz and was assured that it was application-specific. After install, my rpm's seemed to be the same as before. Only problem: several of the members here had mentioned that they seemed awfully high for the...
Semi-gloss black. Great heat radiation; doesn't show fingerprints, dirt or oil leaks. Plus chicks really dig it. Every time you park your truck, they flock around and ask you to open up and show it off.
I've only experienced an injector knock once, and it scared the crap outta me! Sounded like a rod knock from hell! Something stuck on the pintle, and it wasn't closing completely. By the time I got out from under the hood and over to the driver's door, the knock had stopped and the engine was...
Fret not over the drama. As part of a large Italian family, I KNOW drama, and this ain't it. ):h I originally started posting on the Oil Burners page and gravitated to the Place. I sorta missed all the excitement (too busy at work to check in much). Finding DTR was pretty much by accident -...
Interesting. One of our advisory committee members has been installing their engines and trannies for years. Couple of years ago, he was invited to tour their reman facility in Jasper, Indiana. He came away really impressed with the setup - serious investment in equipment, training and...
