    turbo/non-turbo injectors

I didn't get a chance today to check pass side glows, but I did install my glow plug override today. Turned out pretty well. I found a momentary push button switch at NAPA that is pretty unobtrusive there on the dash. Part number is pp5007. They said it is rated 15 amps. The relay is just...

    turbo/non-turbo injectors

I went through all my glow connectors this summer. I pulled off the plastic cover and squeezed the connector with pliers to make a better connection. I am going to pull the pass. side glows today to check for anymore leaky injectors. Steve

    turbo/non-turbo injectors

I will find out when I start my truck today after sitting all night. After replacing my bad injector, I decided to tear it apart and check it out. Besides trying to keep it clean, it looks very simple and easy to rebuild. Does anyone know if the nozzle comes apart at all, or is the needle...

    turbo/non-turbo injectors

No, it was not a Delphi and it came with the copper washer, although it is stamped "india", it appears to be well built. The part number is "2-18628". I did want to get the Delphi, but they had none in stock. The part# is " DEM6703803" for the Delphi. Steve

    turbo/non-turbo injectors

I replaced the leaking injector with a new one from NAPA. I checked the glow plug on that cylinder after driving a bit and it appears to be nice and dry. I haven't gotten ahold of the guy selling the other injectors so I went ahead and replaced the one so as to not do anymore damage to my...

    turbo/non-turbo injectors

I have no way of checking the timing myself but I will try unplugging the ect sensor and see what happens. The big smoke only lasts about 3-5 sec then she is idleing well. Steve

    turbo/non-turbo injectors

Thats what I was thinking. Out of the four on the drivers side, only one glow plug came out wet. I havn't checked the passenger side lately, but the last time I checked glows on that side, they all appeared dry. Perhaps that one possibly leaking injector causes my white smoke and stuttering on...

    turbo/non-turbo injectors

Yes, the glow plug was wet with fuel, not the injector.

    turbo/non-turbo injectors

What difference, performance or economy wise, would the different pop pressures make? I was looking to buy them for spares, but I think I may have an injector leaking by. While changing glow plugs, I noticed that one of them was wet with diesel. Steve

    turbo/non-turbo injectors

Hey everyone. I found a guy who is parting out a 6.5 motor that he got from a gov't auction sale. The motor is brand new in the crate. I asked him about the injectors and he still has them. My question is I am unsure if this was a turbo motor or not and is there a way to distinguish between...

Weird thing is, when I started back down the road, op came back to normal. Truck was only shut down for maybe 15 min. Steve

    tranny and oil pressure problem

I pulled the radiator this spring and cleaned the #@%& out of it. Coolant temp is around 195-205f. While the rad was out, I also sprayed the oil cooler and condensor. Steve

    tranny and oil pressure problem

AFAIK, the engine is original. The coolant temp was at 195-200f the whole time and I had just changed my oil with 8qts delvac 1300. The op switch is new also. I was wondering if my oil pump was cavitating at that angle, causing the lower pressure. Steve

    tranny and oil pressure problem

No, I do not have a gauge yet. I was traveling about 35mph up the hills. Should I have used 2nd gear instead? Would the converter lock-up switch mod help me here? Steve

    tranny and oil pressure problem

Hey all. I just got home from a ride up to Hatchers pass, which is a state park here in AK (ak diesel driver knows where I am talking about). You are basically going up into the mountains with very steep roads (20-30 degree). When I stopped at the top and got out, I smelled hot tranny fluid...
