    Modified 6.2 turbo diesel

We could start a little poll up, anyone that has/had main web cracks could check their mains for alignment. I can check mine, but it won't be for a Hwhile.

    Gm Head Gaskets

):h If that is the way you feel, then you can get ARP to make you a set of high-strength head bolts.

    Gm Head Gaskets

I agree, I have never had luck with ARP's sealers, they stay way too thin when fully cured.

Good thing I have access to Teflon© sealant used in the plants, it seals anything and everything :D

    Gm Head Gaskets

Liquid Teflon© and snug is all the head studs need to be (with very clean threads). For the gaskets to seal properly you need a specific RA, I believe 60 RA or better is usually the requirement. As for using O-rings, you will find that the manufacturers of the head gaskets will know more...

    Gm Head Gaskets

I have a set of factory head gaskets, what would you like? I can take a picture, or I can measure the fire ring width for you. Here is a basic read for you on O-ringing engines and head gasket selection, the advice there is bang on. A properly installed MLS head gasket will hold a TON of pressure.

    Modified 6.2 turbo diesel

It will distort the main caps. The 6.5 has relatively flimsy main webs, and it will in fact distort when you install studs and a girdle of any kind. It is common engine building knowledge that changing anything to do with the main caps causes distortion, and will require to be align honed, and...

    Project 350HP update

Yes, but the dyno is blind to this. The dyno only reads engine RPM and torque generated, based on a calculation of how fast the drum is accelerating. Using the torque generated, and the RPM of your engine it calculates HP.

    Stainless steel exhaust manifold bolts

I am using stainless A2-70 grade fasteners, they have a 102,000 psi tensile strength, and a 65,000 psi yield strength. Also, the threads of the original bolts/studs are a common metric size and pitch. I use Never Seez® nuclear grade nickel Special Anti-Seize for anything real important.

Has anyone run these heads and taken them off to see the condition of the precups or anything? Just curious, maybe I'll have to give these guys a call and ask them that question though.

The piston squirters looked so different, I think a change in the block is nessesary to accommodate them. I don't know about the block as far as cylinder walls and such go, but there is very minimal room for thicker cylinder walls in my 599 block, so I doubt they were changed. There is areas it...

New to site 425 Hp from a 6.5

The second picture is the side shot of a P400 engine. The first picture is the kind of side shot of a regular 6.5. The P400 has forged crank, one piece ladder main caps, piston squirters near the pan rail, different connecting rods, different pistons, different oil pan, and supposedly stronger...

Interesting... It seems another place other than GEP is selling the P400 block now. Just Google "P400 6.5 diesel" Should be the 5th result. Price tag is $8300, on sale for $6900. No pictures there, but from the description, it sounds like the real deal. Maybe they looked into them since I...
