Yeah, as soon as we saw it I knew we would have to have it or one just like it. They're really hard to find with that layout, seems like only a handful were made. Most travel trailers of that vintage had a single rear bedroom, kitchen and fold out couch. With the 3 little ones, we needed as...
Thanks. We have camped in popups for several years, but I got tired of the up and down game every time we set up camp. The last two I had broke a lift cable on me also, so this time around we upgraded.
88gmctruck I read your thread from front to back a while ago, you certainly put some...
Pulled home a 'new' travel trailer for the family last week. It's a 87 Coachmen Coventry 25' bunkhouse. We have 3 small kids and immediately loved the floorplan in this trailer. They each have their own bed and we still have plenty of living space. I'll post interior pics later tonight, the...
For what it's worth I bought a stainless 4" w/ downpipe made by Flo-Pro through my job's distributor. Their part number for my 96 was 822SS, should be the same for your 98. Certainly a nice kit for the money. Not sure about Canada shipping, but I seem to remember Warpspeed carrying Flo-Pro?
For those of us who are wiring challenged, to make the LEDs come on with parking lights you just spliced into the signal wires and ran a wire to the parking light circuit, right? And they still flash in time with the turn signals?
Thanks! They look great and if the tax man is nice to me I'll...
My scanner is the "enhanced" version of an OBDII scanner in the fact that it displays the code description along with the code. I can select the year, make, model, engine and trans combo when I read the codes, maybe in 96 it was a different code than 97+.
Code goes away with the stock...
I installed my new Walking J/KOJO tuned ECM this afternoon, and the truck performance is outstanding! I am having an issue with DTCs though. I did the KOKO procedure as advised by Patrick, no problems there. I am getting a P1643 code, which on my scanner is a Fuel Pump Control Circuit fault...
My 96 has 158k on original everything minus injectors, glows, balancer and a PMD. I only changed the injectors/glows/balancer for peace of mind, the PMD failed on a SSD relo kit. Replaced normal wear items like alt, batteries, belt etc, but nothing major so far :fingers crossed:. Still has 40...
I switched over to the TM setup mainly to eliminate the possibility of the vac pump locking up and trashing the belt. For work I service an ambulance fleet of 7.3Ls and have changed more vac pumps than I can count. I realize on the 7.3L you have to have a vac pump, but I wanted to keep myself...
For what it's worth I have less than $100 in my turbomaster and boost gauge setup, including a new serpentine belt.
As for the pulley, you will need a power steering pulley puller (available for rent at most parts stores) to remove and install.
I just installed a Flo-Pro 4" on my truck today, went with the stainless system over the DE aluminized mainly because I got it at cost from our exhaust supplier; only $50 more than the ebay DE price. Plus no shipping. It sounds good IMO, with the muffler it is quieter than the 3" straight pipe...
Would a slight fluctuation like this cause any problems, or should I just not worry about it? I'll probably flush and fill the system in the spring to prepare for camping season, I'll try and get all the air out and see what happens.
It's been several weeks. The reservoir is full to the line. I don't know exactly which one I put in, I called the local GM dealer we have an account with and got the stock replacement for my 96.
