Looks like a cool tractor, but I'm going to have to call shenanigans on pulling 'like it wasn't there'. I don't care what you're towing with minus a semi, you're going to feel 9k behind you.
That being said, I wish I had the property to justify a tractor/front loader. Maybe someday...
My JK clutch didn't seem to want to kick in when I needed it last weekend towing home from camping. Temps were 215-220 on the ScanGauge. I didn't let out of it (which I have learned now you have to do) because it was all she would do to maintain 55 uphill with the headwind. The two times I...
Like the title says, the rear defrost only works on the P/S barn door. I cleaned the door pins on both sides thinking it may have a bad connection, but still only one side works. What can I check to figure this out?
1997 Sub barn doors.
Finally got the camper out this past weekend. Went to O'Bannon Woods state park near Corydon, IN. Great park, all the campsites were paved and they had lots of activities for us and the kids.
Injectors are brand new, I replaced them a few days before the trip. IATs were 220+ when the TC unlocked IIRC. I'll check the stats as well, I know they were replaced at one point, but PO didn't know with what. They're 195s as shown by the normal operating temp, but unsure on brand.
The mod...
Coming home from a camping trip through rolling hills that had the Burb working hard on the way there, and got into a 20-30mph headwind. It was all she would do towing that sail to maintain 50-55 mph on the hills, sustaining 215*F ECT, 220* spikes (reported via ScanGauge), sustained EGTs of...
I want/need to swap radios in my 97 Suburban. For some reason the clock resets to 1:00 each time I turn the ignition on, and it's missing knobs. I have access to stock radios at the tow yard I work at, but we don't have any GM truck radios on hand.
So on to my question - Will any factory GM...
Hopefully you get the same service life out of the new ones. Unfortunately battery quality has dropped off since those were new. I had redtop Optimas in all my vehicles for a long time, most lasting 6-7 years, then all of the sudden they started failing every year or year and a half. There...
For your price range, brand isn't going to mean as much as condition. Check thoroughly for water damage, most trailers of that vintage have some. Scour craigslist, it seems to be the best source for TTs out there. This is getting close to the time of year for people to start unloading campers...
Probably the starter. The thunk would be the solenoid pushing the drive out, but no spin. If it went REEEEEEEEEE without turning over I would say solenoid bad or sticking.
Post a pic of your steering wheel, I just about bet you have a driver side airbag. When the interior changed over in 94 GM added driver side airbags. My 96 pickup didn't have a P/S airbag, but my 97 Suburban 2500 does.
If it looks like this, you have an airbag (not my truck):
Thanks!
I found a CCLB K3500 SRW 5 speed locally, but it was beat into the ground. Ideally that's what I wanted, but my wife isn't comfortable with a manual and I couldn't find a decent CCLB SRW in my price range anywhere.
Finally some pics. The sun was messing with the camera a bit, but they're better than nothing. Did some more work to it today also. Swapped out the non-working EGT gauge for a digital one a buddy had and traded him my silver-faced boost gauge for his black-faced gauge to match the EGT. The...
Pics are coming, it has been raining every day since I brought it home. I finally washed it this afternoon, and now it's raining on it at work. This one was originally a East Coast rig, so it's not as rust free as my 96, but it has been in the Midwest since 03 and isn't terrible. My extended...
I have the ScanGaugeII in my truck. Well, I haven't mounted it in the Sub yet, but I had it in my 96 ECLB for 8 months or so. I used it to monitor IAT, ECT, RPM and voltage. Not much else that it can do is of merit on a 6.5. It has fuel mileage calculation ability, but it takes some learning...
My 96 sold Tuesday, so I was finally able to go pick up the 97 6.5 Burb my buddy has had on the back burner for me. He used it to commute until his job changed, and then it sat for a couple years as an extra vehicle, being driven once or twice a month. Finally got tired of seeing it sit and...
