I would change all the fluids before you leave. Used oil can get accidic and if it sits for a while unused it can etch metal. Rare, but it happens. Good luck.
To answer my original question, I did find a pan made by Trans Dapt (PN; TD9740) that is a stock replacement pan for my 97' and it comes with a drain plug.
Oh yeah, I got it stuck REALLY good. 18 inches of snow on top of 6 inches of ice. The tires where literatily hanging in the air. Thankfully I have a few friends with bigger trucks then mine and they own chains!
The factory Bridgestones on my Silverado where toast at 55K, I replaced them with Michelin LTX A/T and with 45K on them they are still over 50% tread depth.
I have Edelbrock IAS on my 97' and Monroes on my 03' both are just awesome. For daily driving the Edelbrocks give a nice ride and its smooth in the corners. For occasional towing/hauling the Monroes work great. Hope this helps.
