    Truck Storage

I would change all the fluids before you leave. Used oil can get accidic and if it sits for a while unused it can etch metal. Rare, but it happens. Good luck.

    Change your brake fluid!

You are right. Brake fluid is one of the most neglected parts of a vehicle, yet its so important. I dont get it... Thanks for the reminder. :cheers2:

No worries, glad to help. The cheapest I have found the pan is $34, from paceperformance. I am going to buy one before my next transmission service.

    4L60-E Pan Help

To answer my original question, I did find a pan made by Trans Dapt (PN; TD9740) that is a stock replacement pan for my 97' and it comes with a drain plug.

(08/03/09) Have you ever gotten your truck stuck?

Oh yeah, I got it stuck REALLY good. 18 inches of snow on top of 6 inches of ice. The tires where literatily hanging in the air. Thankfully I have a few friends with bigger trucks then mine and they own chains!

no start after chaing lift pump

Crack some injector lines and get to cranking. Air in the lines on a 6.2 is a royal pain.

(07/22/09) - How many miles do you get out of a typical set of tires?

The factory Bridgestones on my Silverado where toast at 55K, I replaced them with Michelin LTX A/T and with 45K on them they are still over 50% tread depth.

6.2 warning. Check your air cleaner studs

    Shock Suggestions?

I have Edelbrock IAS on my 97' and Monroes on my 03' both are just awesome. For daily driving the Edelbrocks give a nice ride and its smooth in the corners. For occasional towing/hauling the Monroes work great. Hope this helps.
