it was mine. :mad2: I gotta get these stock tires off the truck...they're terrible traction wise. I parked my truck on one side of my property next to the woods while I had some guys cut a tree down. It was mess and mushy over there but I figured no big deal....I'll just put it in 4 wheel drive...
when you get finished can you post a picture up? What color is your truck? Did you try 3m scratch remover for the marks? That with a porter cable will get quite a bit out of the paint. I'm thinking the truck will look a ton better with those gone. I'm just not a fan of black plastic all over a...
What would I find under there? Think the paint would be off color? I really don't care for the black plastic flares. They'll just fade out and look bad at some point so if I can yank them off there I'd like to do it. Just a little worried about what it's going to look like under them and if the...
I'm getting my old truck ready to sell and when it sells that money is going into this one. I think I may know what I want to do lift wise to the truck. Any and all opinions are welcomed. What about a 4" Tuff Country lift combined with a 3" body lift? If they make them I'd almost like to go with...
I have actually heard of black bear even in the f-body scene. I don't know much about them except for what I've read but that's been only good things. I'd say a tune only that 45hp would be a pretty optimistic goal. I'd say 20ish is probably more of the norm for a gasser. I'm not saying it can't...
you can't "chip" the new stuff like the obd1 stuff.....it uses a flash programmer or you'll hear them called "handheld" programmers. The predator is a decent programmer but I think they quit letting people tune out the rear O2 codes a year or two ago so that makes pulling the cats much harder...
I don't beat on the truck...probably only been WOT 3-4 times since I bought it a few weeks ago. That's what my firebird is for.....it leads a hard life the 5 months it's on the streets. :D
I finally got around to pulling my stock tune and loading your 90hptune as an alternate and comparing the 2. You were saying that's a good safe tune for a stock truck right? I'd have to enable the EGR parameters since mine isn't blocked (yet) but I may flash that and give it a try soon. I have a...
I'll file that idea away....that's a good idea. I normally just beat them to death although I've never had a whole bunch of trouble with a tire but I've beat rotors until they've broken away from the hat. Usually have to torch those to help get them off but you can't really torch a tire. :D
how did you vent it? Did you put air filters on it? I really need to buy a "how diesels work" basic book and start reading. ALL of my experience has been with gas burners so I'm not sure what systems carry over and what don't. On the gas burners they normally use the intake to draw vapor from...
does anyone run catch cans for the pcv system on these trucks? That would catch a lot of the oil. I agree that the oil is probably the main culprit with the build up. The inside of your exhaust pipe doesn't clog up like that and it has exhaust running through it too. I have efilive so the codes...
I'm kinda on the fence about blocking the EGR. I've read about the soot build up in the intake and the best I can tell that's the only reason to block it. Is there something else I'm missing? Any other pro's to blocking it? I removed the EGR system completely on my f-body but it was a much...
I'm from Lancaster which is just southeast of Columbus. I get up to the Canton area several times a year to a buddy's house and party with those guys. He lives in Louisville actually.
you'll feel it and it'll feel like an extra gear. As far as abnormal lock ups the only experiences I've had with abnormal TC stuff is either a failure to lock altogether or it'll "chatter" when it locks.
you're just kind of stuck with the light or the abs issue unfortunately. You had the code read then and it came back as a speed sensor? Check the wiring to whatever speed sensor it said was bad....sometimes it'll be the wire but usually it's the sensor. Worth checking though...you get some crud...
Lets see some lift/wheel/tire combo's. Please include brand and size of lift, tire type and size, rim size, and backspace. I'd just like to get a good look at the different options out there and these threads can be pretty cool.
I have a fix for the f-bodies using LED's....I'll PM you the link for you to look over. Won't be exactly the same but I'm sure they'll be similar at least.
I wasn't aware of that. This truck had the infamous tranny line leak ( they covered it under warranty) so I was planning the fluid and filter change just because of the leak. I would say the chances of it being contaminated are next to zero though so I doubt that filter has anything in it that...
