I normally lift half at a time on vehicles depending on what I'm doing but I rotate my own tires and stuff too ( don't trust the tire places) so every now and then I'll have the whole thing up on stands. I still think 3 should be enough to even lift the entire front with right?

I've already got the stands for it.....I've actually got stands coming out of my ears. :D That's been part of the problem.....the only 3-4 ton jacks they had at sears were package deals with stands and a creeper. I just need the jack so I'll most likely have to order through their site.

for soap I use whatever is cheap. I use Meguiars on the truck for the time being until I get the time this summer to switch it over to zaino. I use zaino exclusively on the firebird.

you could try just cleaning it first. The IAC on my wifes Durango is bad about getting gunked up so every 4-5 months it seems I have to pull it off and clean it out real good so the plunger moves freely. About a 15 minute job.

not sure about those cars but I imagine it has an idle air control valve on the throttle body. Typically a high idle like that I look for vacuum leaks or any un-metered air getting into the engine.
