Whaddya ya'll mean about the cruise? My truck's got it, and it works well. On the other head, I am chasing a freeakin' electrical gremlin that I have traced to the box by the e-brake. Stupid thing is shorting occasionally or something. My stereo will randomly turn my extra marker lights on and...
:iagree:
You will notice to though, that I pointed out my truck setup. Like Rich said, the NV with that one wire running the IP makes life, well, as beautiful as it will get driving these trucks IMHO. :lmao:
Like you said with Heath, if the DB2 had been better suited for his application, it...
how safe is that? to resize the con. rods? wouldn't that be cheaper all around if it worked the same? I am wondering about location of the oil ring when the piston is dropped lower in the cylinder with the same ring spacing
Wow, that's nice and low. Wondering what WMI would do for the engine at those speeds during the day?
In the middle of a road trip right now.
Cruising at 60 MPH my boost is around 2-3. When I hit 70 it's up to 5 PSI. By the time I hit 80 it's at 10 PSI. From what I remember hearing, the...
Totally agree with ya man. The DB-2 is the way to go, just for simplicity. The less electro-crap, the happier I am. My Dad's 95 has had lots of troubles. Pump went out, PMD went out. I know of 3 other DS4 related problems within my circle.
Quite simply, there is less crap to deal with when...
TD, you must just be getting old. :smilielol5:, lol
There must be a point though at which the DS4 cannot feed enough fuel.
I would like to read a little more on my DB2 setup. All I have ever heard is, don't turn that screw more than a quarter turn, or bad things will happen. I would like to...
I know of a guy who did a few things and turned his 6.5 up to 4,000. Course, he had done studs and such.
Then there is the guy with the tractor 6.5 that turns at over 5,000 @ WOT.
Heard mention of 6.5's making serious power when they have the ability to turn at 5K. I am guessing a very...
Yea, it would be a good addition for towing, but not necessary in stock form. From a completely stock point, the IP won't provide enough to melt the turbo. Talked with lots of guys who have towed large loads, and have not needed to worry about temp.
I was told, you don't need a pyro, just...
Ya, extensions might not be a great idea. Thanks for sharing that here, about the temp difference.
Regardless, the needle sure can climb fast under load eh? A very good reason to insist someone setup a pyro. gauge before they start moving more fuel.
Main thing to remember for building a "hot" 6.5 is, pay attention to cooling. If you can upgrade it, probably a good idea. As long as it is a real upgrade. (Yup, that thar 12" fan pointed at the oil pan helps! :lmao: )
Fuel. With the fuel system these things have, we can only dump so much...
X2 on that Ratman. I have had times where I wanted to pile a bunch of tires on the truck and light them on fire. Had those moments....:mad2:
But, after spending a lot of time on forums, (Hadn't been here yet), I did work on the truck including swapping out the IP. The truck fired up almost...
I think bottom line in finding one that's crack free is simply going to be luck of the draw. I have seen some absolutely phenomenal girdles that have been built that completely encase the bottom end. Unfortunately, they are custom works and I am sure would cost a lot of $$ to get them...
Hmm, I really am interested here too. I want to beef up the bottom end as much as possible. So you are saying splayed mains are probably the best idea?
So you are saying to go with what? :nonod:
lol, ok, I don't want to dissapoint you, so here's the bashing.
:icon_bs: what do you know about strengthening your engine your former DS-4er! :lmao: your truck had to have an alteration to become the way it is now! how could you possibly know a thing...
Chips won't be the sole cause of overheating, and as many said here, they will often lower your EGT's by controlling your engine operation more efficiently.
As for the probe, if I was you, I would install it in the crossover right below the left side manifold.
The X-over can be easily...
I dunno with the 6.2 being a stronger block. if there is anything, I think it would be so slight, you would never notice the difference.
working on making that 300 myself. just make sure you give your engine MAXIMUM cooling capability and make sure you got studs, girdle, and anything else...
