On this 2000 K3500 truck. Got the master cylinder unbolted from the hydro boost and moved away.
Got under neath the dash unit and the brake lamp switch has this weird looking retainer attached to the pivot shaft nub.
It is not a hair pin style retainer.
This thing looks like a sort of a cap and...
This picture was forwarded to Me and we both thought it might be good to have it posted where anyone needing such information could have it readily available.
Tires on My truck are 285-75-16s
They too are quite wide and tall.
I had to adjust the torsion bars a long ways up to keep the tires frum dragging against the inner fenders when cornering and a rough area is encountered.
I’m wanting to get these tires down some more before encountering the price...
Mileage before the new engine was a pretty steady 15.5 highway/city combined.
So its actually about 1 MPG off from what it was.
1 MPG does add up and it dont take long.
Those old mechanical lift pumps, the diaphragms rupture then they pump fuel right straight into the crank case.
Dilutes the oil then washes out the bearings and rings too if run long enough.
I do have several feets of the VW hose that My BIL purchased when we was working on His Passant.
I am not sure that it is diesel rated so I never tried it.
I dont remember what the purpose of this hose was on that gas driven V-6 engine but we needed this size for something, most likely vacuum...
I believe thats a grand idea so I’m thinking of copying what You did there.
I found a set of these.
But I’m going to do some measuring afore I order them.
I too had been looking at hood scoops but did not want a bunch of water pouring in, or snow. Your plan with the fender skirts is an...
And I love seeing the duellies hauling the big loads.
Then You see a duelly with a big over head camper and also dragging one of the big camper/stock trailer combos.
The dually is on the verge of being over loaded then its dragging some rediculesly heavy load and just hoping that they dont do...
Maybe I think I figured out why fuel mileage is below what I’m expecting.
Them mud flaps, them things are huge, blocking lots of wind, and, they ate dragging on the ground and streets.
Thats gotta be a big part of it I’m sure. 😹😹😹😹
Alcoas is mighty nice. 😍🤪😹
One of the aluminum wheels on my truck has a short crack from the rim inwards. It leaks but real slow. Takes a month for it to come down about ten PSI.
I know the stock steelies aint going to look so nice as the aluminum units but I kind of want to get the truck back...
Went to the auto salvage and purchased a set of stock steel wheels fo the 2000 K3500.
They all have some rust on them so I’ll buff the bead seats with a wire brush mounted to the right angle grinder, then, sand blast them.
I have a 40 pound pressure feed blaster.
Stopped at the only store that...
Yup.
I was surprised when I looked at the fuse diagram and seen that both fuses is suppose to both be 30 amp units.
When I first pulled the cover and seen one was a 50 amp unit I was in a sort of a panic because all I had in the jockey box was two 30s.
Then checking the diagram under the cover...
Nice with a pull behind, once camp is set up, the truck is used for transportation.
With an overhead, when camp is set, if You want to go exploring then the camper has to go along, unless a trailer is being tagged along and another form of transport is incorporated.
The newer campers has some...
Yup, I’m on the two relay system also. Home made wire harness and all high quality with plenty heavy wiring.
I’m going to run it for a while and see what happens.
It did go the rest of the way home with no problems, wasnt running AC but had the heater on and fan running on high and it didnt blow...
