Code 78 even after replaced WG solenoid, twice.

I was setting a 78 code on hills at 65 plus mph... Turned out the sensor on the intake was cracked and not contacting. Fit the wires into it and ziptied the remains of the casing t o hold it all snug and the code dissapeared. Apperantly it was either overboosting or sensing overboost. Any how...

going to buy a 1999 GMC C1500 6.5 8 lug Suburban what did i forget

I had a turn down right behind the kitty on my burb for over a year. It was loud, but not unbearable. I now have a banks exhaust which is 3" turbo back, with their muffler. I love it. It did not raise egt at all and is way quieter. My fuel mileage actually bumped a hair little bit up, which may...

leaking power steering fluid by master brake cylider

Oreillys this was the same one napa gave me. I specified jd7, 8600 gvw. I looked at what he looked up, as i had looked it up at home. Bummer if I screwed it. I figured they had changed something, getting the same thing twice...

leaking power steering fluid by master brake cylider

And now it will not even let me edit the message. I quit. I tried to make it right for you all to see the pictures. I used to know how to do it, but apparently picasa hosting is not the correct way. ???? The final link takes you to the photo album on Picassa.

leaking power steering fluid by master brake cylider

All righty folks. The job is done. I took some pictures in hopes of helping others. Hard? Not really (once you have done it!). I am not a great mechanic, I get frustrated and curse at the burb. But I am generally pretty conservative and have alot of stamina to keep trying. Great attributes for...

    A arm bushings

Is there a good write up somewhere on front end rebuilding and checking? I am pretty sure I need to do some work, but have not started looking at how to check all this. I have never done it on this truck, nor on anything (ball joints, a arms, pitman arms, etc). What is a good resource?

leaking power steering fluid by master brake cylider

It looks like I have the rectangular type and I now see where I can slide in a screwdriver to release the post i guess. Now i just need to find the right hydroboost unit.

leaking power steering fluid by master brake cylider

Thanks guys... I am going to order the booster and tear into it. I got a booster once from napa, but it was not the same as mine, so I returned it. I will try again. Maybe rockauto or oreilly's. Thanks for the tips. I will take another look at it.

leaking power steering fluid by master brake cylider

I really need to do this... Just keep filling my ps fluid. I just cannot visualize how to get the brake pedal end off. It is buried up in there. I can barely touch it. I am still to scared to rip into it with sheer hope I can get it clipped back on. Argh.

    Fan Clutch replacement + Mod

I just got these parts on tonight... AZ had the bolts... GM says 8mm 1.25 18mm, AZ has Dorman on their rack that are 16 mm. I went with those. I also used a washer on it, as the bolts were straight hex head. Holy crap that thing pushes some air. I could tell at idle, but revved it up and at 2k...

Why does this part say it will not fit my 1995 C1500?

I just ordered the clutch and fan off amazon. I am so looking forward to having the AC cranking at the stoplights. So much that I even coughed up the money for the fan blade AND the clutch... being a good boy.

Why does this part say it will not fit my 1995 C1500?

So no luck for me... I have the 6 bolt fan on my clutch. I have zero problems with my stock setup for daily driving, I just want the DMax fan so my AC runs colder at stop lights (figuring more air passing would increase the cooling?) I always want to hit the cheap button... which often differs...

    What brought you here?

I started doing forums with brewing. When I got this diesel, I looked for forums. Found here and the place. Hung out on both, but with several forums under my belt, I try and stay tuned to a place I am most comfortable. I like the people here. I like trying to help others out. I like honest...

    Radiator brand recomendations?

I did get one in there: the Visteon from Fermanator's shed. I prefer to give money to one of you guys any day. He worked me a great deal on that and his old exhaust system. I got it all in and am loving life. I think the price on Amazon is comparable to anything from anywhere else.

I am over in jasper, ga. I work way too much, but love hearing you are passing through. My driveway sucks for parking, but you could sure park in the field if you want... Granted I am only a half mile from the walmart! Holler at me if you come down through nw georgia. I am home evenings most...

jrsavoie needs assistance, on RT160 in Colorado between South fork and pagosa springs

I used to live in pagosa back 2002-2004. Wish i was there to help. That pass is not the worst in the area, but it will test you. It is featured as an overlook in lampoons family vacation movie. Lots of rvs run that pass in the summer. Glad it turned out well.

    ac belt chatter

I was looking on rockauto... I have a thread here that covers the parts. I have NOTdone it yet. Just cleaning and having a factory thermostat has done wonders for mine. http://www.thetruckstop.us/forum/showthread.php?28159-Cooling-system-upgrade-for-95-burb
