I went with the injectors from money slave off flea bay. I was very happy. Search his name here and you will find threads on people happy with him. Now I have my old set to be rebuilt at a local shop for next time. That same shop can pop test the fleabay injectors.
30 micron I think. Check out the threads on walbro pumps recently. Burning oil has a setup that is pretty sweet for sale. I rigged mine, but plan on getting his mount when I need my filter.
The tank I took out (it was a GM OEM, best I could tell) did NOT have a baffle in it for what it is worth. I read some do, some don't :dunno:
I am still running a sock, though it looked like a piece of crap. when I have problems, I will remove it, as I am planning to go with a racor/wix spin...
I bought a tank from 1Aautomotive (they are on fleabay and the net). That tank had a baffle. I would suck air at 1/4 tank. Figured it was a clogged sock, but inspection revealed that the tank had imploded from too much suction (gasser cap).
The tank from A1A was great. I have had zero problems.
read around some on here... the idea is that it was fixed on the late model water pumps (search balanced flow maybe?) and the best is upgading to the screw on water pump (2000, IIRC) and a duramax fan blade (on a clutch).
I hope that helos for tonight, in case others are gone to bed.... Or...
I have an econ tune and it makes the truck WAY more drivable. Around town, the truck seems more responsive in the lower RPM. I love my new shift points. It makes a big difference for me on the hills (holds better). Acceleration is smoother. The truck just feels all around more present, smoother...
Real world, I am driving mostly short distances and have hills both ways right now. Getting 13.7 every tank. I would love to take her on a trip and see what she does, but for the comfort and space and versatility, I am glad I have this truck. My Ford Ranger with the 4.0l got the same mileage here.
I have been pleased with the ride from the gas magnums. I would love to compare to the reflex or the bilsteins, so if anyone wants to send me a set, I will gladly post a comparison. :)
I dont even need to look close to see that now... I was at work and tired. Teach me to post while working!
I like the 90 degree fitting on top. I would recommend that to anyone, as it really helps fit it in there.
My truck is running really smooth now. After shocks, a tune, and the pump, she...
Slim- filter is AFTER pump on yours? Or am I just not tracing the lines right?
I was thinking to put a 30 micron before the walbro and leave the stock FFM in place.
Kennedy would likely reference kennedydiesel.com, Non vendor hot link disabledwho is one of the good 6.5 dealers. Most of the info can be found on this site in the technical library here.
Welcome to truck stop! Loads of info here to help you keep on truckin.
I had a time with my low coolant light. I had to scrape a little corrosion off the inside of the tank and I cleaned the outside connection. I think the PO used leak seal and when the air hit the sensor it coated it.
Scraped and cleaned, and it works now. Helps that I fixed the leaking crossover...
Yes. The top and bottom are identical in terms of nut, washer, 1/2" coupling.
And thanks for the feedback, Louis! I am not a mechanic, I just like to tinker, learn and problem solve.
I went off the guy who posted the email from Walbro saying horizontal mounting was fine. I dont have a link. Of course, this is a new model, I guess I extrapolated. I would need to get a 90degree mount for the top to mount vertical.
From post 23 here
I simply removed the two bolts holding the factory LP holder (black plastic). I ran the threaded rod u-bolt through these holes. No drilling. It was all hand tools. So it is mounted in the factory LP location, simple spaced out above the fittings.
The bypass fittings are PERFECT. It is nice...
this is the outside of the frame under the parking brake cable.
This one shows the 1/2" rod coupler being used as a spacer.
It seems to be working well.
