    96 k1500 intermittent rough idle

The other weird thing about it i s that when you come to a stoplight it will stutter a couple times but as long as I hold my foot on the brake the Idle evens out. Seems to have good lift pump pressure. I can open the water drain with truck running and it still runs. Another odd thing is...

    96 k1500 intermittent rough idle

All right fellas this truck didn't do this all winter long and now it started doing it again. I put the clear tube on and no air bubbles to be seen, seems to be something electronic because it's very intermittent one time you start the truck no troubles the next time runs like crap any more ideas

    OPS or Oil Pressure Switch

I guess first thing I need to do is hook the wires up to the factory wiring and see what is going on. Can you use a jumper to power the lp from the ops plug on the 96+ trucks the same as on the older ones?

    OPS or Oil Pressure Switch

So is lp controlled by the ecm then? Also I figured out what the mystery part is. Found a number on it so I googled it and it's part of the airbag system

    OPS or Oil Pressure Switch

that's interesting. I guess I just figure that was the case since the lp is wired to power out of the fuse panel under the hood by one of the previous owners, they did put an inline fuse. I wonder why they would have cut the wires and wired it hot?

    OPS or Oil Pressure Switch

side note what got me to this thread, just spent 20 min looking and feeling around on back of my 96 looking for OPS (my other engines are pre 96 even in my 00). Did not remember that some are under the intake, did a search and here I am. I need to replace mine since it wont run the lift pump...

    96 k1500 intermittent rough idle

My 96 does this very randomly. Did it about 2 weeks ago and haven't had any issues since until today. Have a new pmd that has been relocated and the grounds are all good. Seems to me that it is more than likely something in the pump but thought I would see what the group thinks. Only has issues...
