Good question. Treating the 6.56's piston is straight forward. Finding an E85 compliant injector seems like the challenge.
Like many start-ups, good idea.
Another challenge is supply. IIRC, only a few years ago we had corn production drop to the point where it started to raise the question...
Nice presentation. One surprising element was that given the current date, there was no statement on efforts to eliminate the last use of lead in fuels as it appeared to throw aviation consumers to the wolves. Unless I am missing something, lead in aviation fuels are on track to start phasing...
Do not recall posting details on the event at the time, as it also turned into a bit of a $hit show with a now failed business. Main reason for not posting was that I wanted to have facts on what caused the incident, and sadly none were ever found. In the end, it appears like the incident was...
At the risk of adding bad noise to the conversation, I had read cases where IIRC the crank would fail somewhere around the 100K mark. Do not know how wide spread the issue was, but a few years ago there were some high milers whom suddenly needed a new engine. And, Yes, am rather certain it was...
FWIW, do not recall claims about a miracle filter, but rather the personal discipline to make extension of oil change intervals work.
The keys are filter changes at all the OE intervals *and* supporting data from regular analysis.
Some vehicles I have were run with the same batch of oil well...
Always sad to see beasties like this get completely picked apart and cast out.
Here is a thought. See about gutting the burned-out section, revamp the entire rig, put it on stands, hook it into utilities, and turn it into an Airbnb. Will get way more than scrap or salvage value this way :)...
I recently had to go through a drill of dumping the older diesel vehicles and get something new(er) that (in theory) would cost less and spend less time in the shop. Interestingly, the family members applying pressure to purge the old beasts were not the ones who drove them or paid the bills...
If the family does not need to sell the gifted truck to cover medical bills (from a stated lack health insurance), the other likelihood is selling it to cover the ~$12K tax bill as this counts as revenue in the tax collectors' perspective. Unless, the Dealership is also planning to pay the tax...
Depends on the diesel.
New. No way. Costs too much and far too complex.
Naturally aspirated. Meh. Gutless but at least they will run. This platform is great for equipment like tractors and generators.
Turbo direct injected. Now we are starting to get interest. But not once DEF enters...
In addition to echoing the comments to get a live PID reader / monitor, have a thought about that sight-unseen deal...
While understanding the regret with this purchase's outcome, no need to completely avoid future remote purchases. Consider taking a look at escrow agents and paying the...
Did y'all color inside the lines or what...!
Forget putting a DMax into another truck or SUV. Been-Done.
DMax in a '50s long body Cadillac convertible. Or '60s DeVille convertible. ;)
Ummm... Don't forget about socialism. It's already here. But that is not a topic that we want to dig into lest we upset or elected officials for letting the secret out ;)
Derailment in only 7 posts. Impressive :D
Methinks that the friend definitely was victim of a communism byproduct...
Ferd did the same thing in terms of creating an online portal for customers to order direct.
Recently needed a new engine. Called Jasper and the other go-to shops for a rebuild and they were all COVID stocked (read: none in-hand and seriously back-ordered by maybe months, maybe never)...
And not to mention the EPA making a new account on a site asking for help when the intent is to flush out people.
Point is, the online community has either gone offline or stopped as nobody wants to be the little fish that gets turned into an example.
Really is too bad as while the intent of...
Unless those A/T tires are absolutely necessary, consider going with H/T for the next set for an instant 10% increase in mileage. I run H/T Load Es on the pickups and used them on the Burb. Never had a bit of trouble with the tires doing their job whether it was through mud at the dump /...
Ok, now that we know how to spot a virgin... While this would have been nice to know some time ago, now that I know better, am not sure whether a battle-hardened jaded one is better though. ;)
Late to the conversation, but... Back to one of the early comments.
Use caution when taking a high...
Have not really closely followed this platform.
Know only enough that if it has the CP4, it is no different than the DMax in terms of spinning the roulette chamber. There is a bulletproofing product available and it is ~$1K (if you can get it). Am guessing that cost is is worth it compared to...
CompNine gives the RPO codes and their matching description (same as found via online RPO lists and descriptions).
If you have the glove-box sticker with the RPO codes, it should match what CompNine returns; only difference is that CompNine will show the code's description which saves a lot of...
