Sounds good Buddy, See I have a good flow of vaper coming out the oil fill tube. I wonder if I just take out the CDR valve and let it vent to the atmosphere? I just don't want too much pressure building up causing oil leaks. Or doing any other harm to the engine. Or BK95 mentioned putting...
Bison, I just picked up a 95 pickup with a boat load of miles on it. It has a fair amount of vapors coming out of the oil filler tube when I remove the cap. Do you suggest taking off the CDR and running a line back to the oil filler tube? Or to the atmosphere? Thanks.
I have not made the mistake yet. I came close acouple of times though. Once I was ready to squeeze the handle and the wife hollard out the window of the truck saying arn't you putting gas in there. I felt alittle awkward but I did thank here. Then on a trip once I just about squeezed the...
Nice truck, I think you should fix it up and keep it. You don't have any trucks with the NV4500 in it do you? Good time to put one of those many engines you have in her and have another nice rig. Where did you get that one?
I don't know if the 2 stroke oil contributed to my OS going bad or not. I work on alot of snowmobiles in the winter months. Alot of folks wanted their oil drained and replaced with a different brand this past winter. I put their 2 stroke oil in my fuel tank every time I would fuel up. The...
I just used the gray silicone/sealant from gm. If I remember right some of the holes are dead ended? And some of the holes went all the way through? I was told not to use anything on the holes that were dead ended. It's been acouple years since I put heads on mine though. I didn't have any...
Let us know how it goes. Put big wheels on and enter it in the Monster Jam on Sunday.
They started using that chemical around here acouple years ago. They put it on before the storm. Actually I think more accidents are caused from using it. It seems to get slippery when it snows on it.
If you don't need the truck and have another one to drive for the time being just give yourself a break. I have one extra vehicle in the family here. If one breaks down I don't have to get it up and running the next day. I get frustrated too at times and just walk away from it for a few days...
Nice work. In record time also. It would have taken me a good 6 months to do that.
I had to look at the pictures acouple of times. I have a brother in law that lives over in Rockport right next to Concrete WA. Last time I was out to visit him he had a camper like yours, mabey alittle...
Hey My Friend. What have you been up to? No I haven't figured out my problem yet. Last week I got my tranny put back in the 92 6.5 pick up. So at least I don't have 2 trucks down.
On Friday I ordered a newer version of the OS from Badger Diesel. It is used but guaranteed for 1 year. I...
I did alot of searching on the tire issues and most liked and had the least amount of problems with the Good Year tires. The Marathon tires is what I ended up going with. It would ruin a good trip or make it bad if I had blown out a tire. Especially a new tire. Not saying that a blown out...
I had a 30' jayco fifth wheel and loved it. I then went to a 28' cougar fifth wheel because I got a good deal on it and it was newer. I put a hitch on the back of it and tripple tow with it. The fifth wheel you won't feel the sway at all. I have talked to alot of guys with tt's and they say...
I don't know why it is so hard to find a good trailer tire. I searched and searched on message boards for trailer tires. I ended up going with the goodyear tires. It seemed like they had the most positive feedback of all the tires.
Smithville, Thanks I feel better now. The clutch chatter that I feel is when the clutch is engaging. Only when starting from a dead stop is when I feel it. It isn't bad but I feel it. I did use the fine fine sand paper on the flywheel very slightly and I used starting fluid to whipe the...
I pulled mine out today. I ended up tearing the screen on one side at the top of that filter. I located one for 2 bucks so I will have to take a 20 mile road trip Tomorrow. Mine was actually very clean and I have 220,000 miles on the truck.
It has those 4 ears on the bottom of it. Now...
The three clutch kits I purchased always came with the pilot bearing and a throwout bearing. Make sure you replace both. I put the pilot bearing in but alot of others have used the bushing. I think you can get them at napa. If you get the brass bushing make sure you soak it in oil overnight...
Looks like you have it covered. Might want to have a friend there when you remove that NV4500. Darn thing is for sure very heavy. One of my friends had a tranny jack that went just as low as a floor jack. That worked awsome. Folks have different methods on putting the tranny back in. I put...
You might want to get the gasket that goes between the transfer case and the tranny. Mine always gets torn when I take it apart. You will want to have the flywheel resurfaced too I would think or replaced. In 96 you have the internal slave?
I thought I was going to get mine done in a day...
Hey Folks, transmission is in and truck is on the road. The wife actually drove it to work Today. She called me at home and said she really likes it. Thanks everyone here that had great input for me on this install.
Just some input. You all know I switched over to the single mass...
Looks like a nice set up. Turboman, if that galvenized and fuel don't mix causing a chemical reaction statement is correct, that is very good input on your part. Thanks.
