    My clutch mod

GM clutches suck. Thanks for sharing. I would like to know how this all comes out. I put a couple of clutches in my truck and need to redo it yet again. The first time I just reassembled it as I had taken it apart. The original owner also had the factory clutch replaced. This wasn't as...

6.5l no pressure on cooling system

Not that crazy it just depends. Expanding on what Chris said it takes heat to build pressure. It only builds pressure because it is air tight and the thermal expansion of fluid and warmed air in the reservoir of underhood temps. It doesn't really circulate to the expansion tank much. It is...

    The Boat Thread

Do research like Les said sleeve soundS economical. They may have recommendations for machining. I figured the piston was buggered. A bit surparised the wrist pin didn’t knock. I dunno how much do u want to spend for how long? Used engine vs clean it up and rebuild $900. eBay kit. With just...

    The Boat Thread

I have never really worked on a 2 stroke outboard. I don't know might could put a piston in that Force since you can wrench. I wouldn't want to pay to repair it. If you repower go with Susuki, Mercury, or Yamaha might be your long term solution go for best deal you can find. Unfortunately...

    The Boat Thread

Sorry to hear about the engine. I would look at the economics of repower or cutting losses. At 70hp IMO it is underpowered for more than cruising. IMO probably 115hp would have been better suited for that boat min. Below 115hp would be a long drag on a skier. A healthy 70hp would plane...

2020 3500 Parked ~ 48 hours - Dead battery no apparent reason. FYI and any thoughts?

My truck was parked for a week without use and cranked up fine. Guage read normal 14V after sweep even with the ac fan on low. So I guess I'll wait and see if anything presents further.

2020 3500 Parked ~ 48 hours - Dead battery no apparent reason. FYI and any thoughts?

I do have to learn what goes on in the background. I had previously gone through the media screen and looked through all the settings I could scroll through and most were off that did not seem functional wifi, data sharing, etc. I don't like On Star and don't have any billed plan but that is...

Keeping braided rope supple and soft?

Super Slick Slick stuff wasn't bad but still maybe a little film. It did help lube up some knots to make them easier to undo. Next I want to try some car interior cleaner that is not suppose to leave a shine or residue of oily feeling.

Keeping braided rope supple and soft?

Solar charger for phone and or speaker

What are you using for a solar charger? I bought this one at academy sports to try but think I want a better one. I want one I can use for a phone and or speaker. One that will allow several hours of charge. Most of a day and an hour or 3 in the evening. Not too big.

Keeping braided rope supple and soft?

I have washed rope and have some rope in a 5 gallon bucket of water mixed with fabric softener right now. Do you know any spray on product that works or good for solid braid dock lines that keeps them soft?

    What's In Your Pocket?

I think they are using cell phone data just not saying it as such. They don’t explain their “models” very much. I haven’t seen much real good break down of the data yet. Mostly just mention of age group of deceased.

    Time to replace clutch..

Yeah, it hurts to have to justify buying tools with so few uses. You would think there were more options to rent stuff like that. I'd need to be able to rent it for 2 or 3 weekends to do the job which usually makes it uneconomical. Buying and reselling makes sense but would have to be patient...

    Gail Banks

Yeah, I agree our pop injectors systems are more like gas cycle. You still have some advantage with the diesel fuel having higher octane and longer “burn” , more BTU’s, and much wider air fuel ratio vs gas. So they started tuning the injection and it maybe has a bigger window variation than...

Its definately in the tuning. He talks about the 40 degree crank angle as his rule of thumb for end of the injection zone. Typing out some thinking. Saying it differently.... I'd like to see more detail in the correlation of cylinder peak pressure/ cylinder pressure fall off and crank...

Now he is pushing so much air through the engine I was thinking of the air fill % of each cylinder. He starts talking about piping as a teaser and the bends and routing of the exhaust mainfold and tail pipe size.

    Gail Banks

Interesting to also think about how balanced or imbalanced each cylinder might affect things. He can estimate cylinder fill % by averaging it over all the cylinders from manifold mass flow rates but not sure he can get that down to each cylinder?

Episode 11 now it's getting a lot more interesting to me. This episode starts to be more similar to a 6.5 build IMO. Now at the end of 11 and what will be 12 he is finally pushing past the easy bolt-on stuff and easy tuning of adding more fuel and needs to start looking at the rest of the...
