    Gear/Trans oil recommendations

This is a timely thread, HH. I need to drain and replace the rear diff fluid in my DMax, and was looking for an alternative to the $$$ GM grapejuice.

    06 duramax

I'm thinking smoke switch as well, but hope that I am wrong. Did the truck come with gauges? Any evidence of a pyrometer plug on the passenger side exhaust manifold?

    PPE Deep Allison Transmission Pan

    That's what she said. ;-)

    PPE Deep Allison Transmission Pan

I thought that my Allison deep pan had clearance issues. That PPE pan worries me on a non-lifted truck.

Lifted 4x4 RZR bit off more than he could chew.

The helmets are unnecessary, but required at this particular offroad park. :)

The lesson? Don't play "follow the leader" with me when my wife and I are in the tracked Argo. :D What he saw: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wiH5cTNBFsM&feature=related What happened when he tried to play: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-tXS3TSP9ls

how to clear LBZ check engine light

Be sure to run the codes and find out what tripped the CEL so that you can correct the problem as needed. We can help track that down.

    Park/Nuetral Position Switch

If replacing the NSBU switch does not correct the problem, post up here. My problem ended up being installation errors inside my Merchant built transmission, but the symptoms mimicked a bad NSBU.

Can I get somebody at a truck stop to tow my too-heavy utility trailer?

Probably, if you can find a willing truck owner and have cash. Your best best might be a local truck stop or diesel pickup accessory shop.

I do exactly what Mike does.

Fuel System for a 2006 Duramax

It gets passed through the filters over and over again, but I don't see any filtration benefit after the first pass through. 3 microns is still 3 microns. Its not like something slipped through the first time and will get caught later, correct?

    04.5-07 LLY/LBZ twins- 750+RWHP

That is very tempting, Henry, and it looks great to boot.

Gasoline Now Going Up To 15% Ethanol By Summer...

Thank the moronic tree huggers. We are sitting on 500+ years of domestic petroleum that we cannot access. Instead we use a tax subsidized alternative that is less efficient and eats up fuel lines in older engines.

    01 DMAX/Ally problems?

I really like my S&B intake.

    01 DMAX/Ally problems?

You already know about the injector issue. That simply goes with LB7s. Tranny lines can sometimes leak. Wheel bearings can crap out beginning around 80k miles. Pitman and idler arms start to wear pretty good by 60k or so. Regular maintenance should include oil/filter change every 5k or...

ATVs - What are you riding?? (Also , a brand specific question.)

It is a 2011 Argo Frontier 8x8 with Adair tracks. It has a top speed of 25 mph on land and 5 mph in water with the tracks. I have run it through snow in excess of three feet deep, despite the tracks not being specifically designed for snow. The machine seats up to six passengers. Depending...

    Balancing media, any opinions?

I run them in our '83 K20. It has 35" TSL/SX mud tires that are tough to balance, but the beads do a great job.

    Chasing an Allison ghost

I am still kicking myself for not seeking out a way to get to sunny Southern California 'way back when I was wrestling with where to go for that tranny build. The good news is that the truck runs great, the tranny clicks through the shifts like it never did before, and the TC now locks up...
