I agree with jeff, but being that you are new to the whole thing i would suggest sticking with something more "plug and play". like a simple flash tuner from PPE or some thing like that.
The manuals we use are part of a secure website from GM. Access is limited to dealer personnel only. I have to change my freekin password every three months:doh:
They stopped giving us paper manuals about 6 or 7 years ago.
Do you have any other way to montor your oil pressure? ie: scan tool, or does your six gun tuner have the pda? If you do, try monitoring it when your oil pressure guage goes haywire and see what it shows.
Looks like you have an ecm failure

Like jeff said, the fuel filter is always a possibility.
Are there any "Reduced Engine Power" messages displayed or is the check engine light on? Check to see if there are any DTC's stored, they could shed some light on to whats going on here.
Also, when was the last time you changed your fuel filter? I've only got about 5-6k on this filter and i've got a flat spot through 3rd gear due to filter restriction:doh:
VAT stands for Vehicle Anti-Theft system. Most likely thats not the case just because you changed the batteries. However I have see stranger things happen. Like Vrabel said, you don't have an aftermarket alarm or anything like that on the truck do you? One thing you could try is turn the key on...
it mostly depends on how many times it shifts. If you do more stop and go driving it will take less time for it to clear up. Also remember your shifts should be firmer due to the upgrades in the transmission. at least thats what i'd expect to happen, don't know for sure cause i've never driven...
