Yikes that is bad, your right about getting what you pay for, my LMC ones were actually pretty nice, I could tell they weren't OE, but the fit very well and adjusted out fine! But they were 90 bucks a side.
I don't have any leak problems with mine, but that is always what I do after a rebuild or a f/f change, run it through all the gears, and let it sit in neutral, recheck/topoff, and then do it all again before the truck ever moves.
Coooooollll...I have heard about guys swapping heads like crazy, just to get the diamond precups, but I've never seen anyone actually modify the precups!

The headlights are the same, but the parking lights and the corner lights are different, so you could just sell them off and come out with a pretty good deal on headlights!
Alot of guys had problems with aftermarket companies giving them alternators with gasser pulleys on them.
A gas alternator will work, just throw off your tach reading, so you can just swap pulleys.
I've got a Cobra 25 classic, trick mounted under the seat, with the antenna mounted up on the roof (not for low over passes!)

I had this problem on my tranny, when they rebuilt it, they had to order a whole new wiring harness, not sure if that is the case or if I just got soaked.......

I would through truck box sides, leave the carpet and and rear seats, and get a liftoff fiberglass top, so that it is basically a longer, 4 door, K-5.
