I actually have a set of the NBS center caps that I will be putting on with them, I just didn't have time to get a picture with them.
You are right though, those Hummer caps are capital U-G-L-Y!!:puke:

I am not sure about a check valve in the FM, but IIRC there was a check valve in the LP, I would think they both should have a check valve.
Sure sounds like fuel is draining back somewhere.

Ha, I was pretty suprised to see that steering wheel on the right!!
Very clean looking truck though!
I am guessing you are in New Zealand? What does $27,000NZ equal in American?
Ah, sure, why not, your avatar is a RC too, so that's close enough for me!:smile5:

That is the same thing with my buddies, it has this weird noise only at low RPMs and with a high load, so we figured it would be a good time to make sure it had the proper fluid, and then we sift the old fluid and see if we could find any pieces of "evidence".
Do we have a Regular Cab Club here yet?
I haven't seen one in anybodies sig.
If we do not have one I officially declare that we start one!
(and call dibs on numero uno!)

The frame doesn't really look that bad from what I can see, motor/tranny is probably fine, frame is definitely fixable. if you want to take the time to part it out piece by piece, there is wayyy more than $1000 in parts there, probably close to $2000.
If you had a little black smoke, you were probably a little 'rich' and where not getting a complete burn. Now your have a better air/fuel ratio and are burning your fuel more efficiently, thus using less fuel.
