    Cool VIN Decoder

There are 2 of mine built out of 66,814 for 91. Built on 10/18/91, just a couple months later and it could have been a 6.5!

Michael, does everyone in your part of MI drive 2WDs that are jacked up in the back? Nice job on scoring that deal!!

    1991 gasser getting 92 n/a 6.2 electrical ?

You will have to swap the entire dash wiring harness between the truck, but if the 92 has the pointer gauges, and not the sweep gauges like the 91, you will also have to swap the entire dash to make the gauge cluster fit. They may not look like it, but they are actually different in back. IMO...

    Splayed Mains......

I have also heard of guys "pinning" the caps, where they put a dowl pin in on each side to keep the the cap perfectly located on the registers.

    Splayed Mains......

Will, have you considered cross-bolting the mains?? Or is it in the plans already, I know the LS guys love the deep skirted block and cross bolted mains for a strong bottom end.

    Splayed Mains......

That is along the lines of what I was thinking.....I would like to keep the extra holes in the block to a minimum........

I bet that is what makes the big difference, I bet that condenser sucks up alot of air!!

    Splayed Mains......

Hijack away.....I want to learn..... From what it looks like, the outer 20 are a smaller diameter than the main ones??

    Electric Fans

I would think you would want to stick with the stock fan(or at least a D-max fan kit). I don't know what temps your truck is running, but seems like I would want as much airflow as possible to help make up for the large amount of area that big damn plow takes away from the grill. My .02

    Splayed Mains......

I am going to go out on a limb here and say that those 1000 HP engines where not 6.5s.):h Which is my question: I know it works well on purpose built high HP, high RPM race motors, but a 6.5 is different. I am especially concerned about a 506 squirter block, some of them with the 12mm mains...

Hmmm, that looks like one of the integrated block/pan girdles, maybe??? Are those your CAD designs, for "the project"

no dashlights on radio and heatercontrol

If ya could, that'd be great! I thought I heard of someone that made a kit to retrofit the dimmer for LEDs. I have heard of using a dimmer-pulse module, that gradually slows the pulse width of the LEDs to make them appear dimmer, you don't notice the periods of time that the light is off, but...

Yes I am talking about the 95+ Not many of them seem to go out, but both are out on my Yukon!

no dashlights on radio and heatercontrol

IIRC (in case any of you have the same problem I had) the bulbs that light the AC and Rcirc. (the little orange slot in the bottom of the switch that tells you when it is on) is a different style bulb than the rest in the unit. I don't have the number because it was burned off of mine, but they...
