I would start with some 180 or 220 grit paper to sand down the texture, be careful not to get too excited and sand the contour out of the plastic. Then I would sand it smooth with some 500, prime it, and sand it wet with 500 very lightly (just to take care of any blemishes or texture in the...
Dropping in a 6.2 is alot different than putting a 6.5 in a much newer vehicle. The 6.2s and mech. 6.5s have caveman like wiring compared to the electronic 6.5s. However your swap would be made pretty easy if you could find a donor truck and just swap everything in it. You would need...
I was always taught that the rule was .002 per cylinder, which would be a total max of .008, so I think yours will be O.K. Like you said, the studs should be able to pull that flat better than the TTY anyway.
It could also be a stuck blower door, or a dysfunctional door motor. You can try running the door motor off of a battery, if it works that would limit it to a wiring problem or the controller.
I would find a way to put the cover back on the box, it will really make a difference in your IATs. There is a thread floating around where a member did a test with the cover on and then with it off, made a real difference.
I believe that is what happened with mine also, they may have gotten seated though, I ran them on with a breaker bar and then tourqued them down, which pulled them in alot.
You know, I find that angle iron isn't strong enough for a main girdle, I usually try to use fence posts. They are cheaper and stiffer than wimpy angle iron. :D
Well here it is, finally, the conclusion to this thread! Christmas break gave me enough time to get these finished up and put on. I had them beadblasted by my local Carquest, then the tire shop powdercoated them gloss black, mounted the tires and balanced each with a 4oz bag of Equal...
The blower motor on the Yukon started making noise on my way home on friday. I only seems to do it when it is warmed up, and on low speed, it sounds like a snaggly bearing to me.
Can you rebuild the motor, ie, do they make a bearing kit for them, or do I need the whole motor??
Are the blower...
Right now I have just s straight bench, but I would love to get one of the 60/40s with an armrest in the middle. The problem is just finding one on red!
Generally if you keep up the maintenance and treat it nice, it will stay running, there are some motors that tend to go early, but generally if it has already made it to 200K it will be fine.
