I trying tset my tdco and i got a damn 88 code. No matter what i have tried i cant get it to clear.
1 tryed thru GMTD scan
2 jumped pins and held throttle and brake
3 unhooked batteries overnight
4 changed ECM but not chip
5 pulled ecm fuse for 5 min
nothings working cant get it to...

The biggest thing I can tell you is MIG welding does not like rust. Clean, clean, clean the steel you are welding. I know you were just "messin" around in the pic but the cleaner the better. But do NOT ever use parts cleaner to clean grease or anything of the steel when you mig'n. It can create...
I have done all the above. Definitly pull the hood. Cherry picker works really good even if you have help. It really helps keeps things from dropping provided the one runnin the valve on the picker has a slow trigger finger!!!!!!!!!!!
I had bad luck with Walts heads. They cracked around the bottom of the valve spring seats. But that was after 3 years so no warrenty left. Thanks again WALT!!!!!!
Mine did the same thing and I found the ground wire to the frame from the firewall wa sbroken off. It is down on the fram by the down pipe. You might have to move rubber flap on the inner fender to see it.
