fingersticks are known to fail. i've seen some trucks will go through them like babies go through diapers.... whether the units were bad or wiring was done correctly i don't know. i recommend getting efi live or a tuner with capabilities of ghosting the code. JMO :)
got mine from carquest in the heavy duty truck application. (green belt i think) the length is usually in the part number xxx11950 xxx11900 or something along those lines
i went through 4 idler pullys before i hit 10k.
i also got a gatorback and it literally shredded driving down the road while i was pulling a trailer. they have a reputation for failing :(
i ended up getting a slightly shorter belt, a 119 instead of the factory 119.5 no squeeks and no belt...
i sit and watch/assist my dealer do all work on my truck.... i'm just slightly anal about it ;)
my egr motor and valve are sitting in the toolbox along with a couple other emissions related items. that way i can say that they are "still in the truck"...... hahahaha
get the lbz! i love it, just watch your leaky trans lines and tighten the radiator hoses and get you idler pulley replaced a couple times. aside from those things i love this truck!!!! and balls that a bull would be jealous of :D
I will be deadhead Sunday Jan 18th returning home from Washington DC and heading northbound back to CT. I have an 8ft bed empty except for a toolbox and spare tire in the bed and am equipped for a bumper pull (tag trailer)
I am fairly flexible on price right now due to the load I have going...
worst case scenario is to hang til i can pension out and then relocate south then. best case is find a job with comparable benefits and equal pay on a fd. just gotta keep my options open.
i got a lot of respect for cummins :) before i knew anything about the duramax i almost bought a dodge just for the cummins. i still wish i had a 02 chevy rc/lb with a cummins and an allison and a king ranch interior. but whatcha gonna do if ya ain't got the coin to fund it all. oh well
i've got it tuned in on my lbz with efi live; at 0% tps the turbo vanes close to 95% and it slows me right down. no where near as effective as a conventional jake is but for the options out there it suits me just fine :)
first day i had my laptop i never even setup vista, just erased EVERYTHING and put xp professional on it. much less headaches and runs a lot faster too.
