Always, and didn't even look like Tin Man afterwards haha.
Replacing the hydroboost unit this week. Thought the power steering leak was just coming from the old hoses but the leak is still there, seems to be coming from the bottom of the unit. Area around all 3 hoses is nice and dry. Also have...
Woohoo gaskets arrived early. Did initial install of the 2 piece diamond eye crossover pipe, removed then wrapped it up. Reinstalled with the 5 bolts for now and no leaks on the test drive, replacing that 1 missing bolt tomorrow when I go into town. It's nice still having a fully working clutch...
With the current budget going to have to pass on the internal coating of the crossover pipe. The extra expenses from the move did a number on the credit cards/score that I won't have corrected for about 2 months.
Been soaking the exhaust bolts for the past 3 days along with driving. 5 of the...
Planning to grab that fitting for the cooling system tomorrow when I go into town.
Power steering hoses started leaking so replaced the 3 main ones.
New crossover pipe arrived along with the OBD1 cable.
It's actually not bad, certainly had way more gnats than mosquitoes so far but no extremes yet. There are wild deer that regularly roam across the property (will do a thread on the property).
Truck went for it's first test drive since the intake tubing was plumbed up. Starts instantly, runs...
Oiled filters have consistently the worst results in testing. Will have to go digging through one of my books for the exact number but according to the standard tests paper won at 99%, synthetic fiber core was at 98%, oiled filters were at 90% when oiled correctly, and below 60% when oiled...
Guessing the kid tried to climb onto the trailer by putting his hands on the roller then jump up, not realizing it would roll.
Other hazard with them is stepping onto the roller when walking off the trailer.
Like the bed winch it has its hazards to be aware of, many benefits though.
Couple developments on the trailer. After the move down here to Texas the service beds were pulled off and been using the trailer as a general flatbed. Sold the 9ft bed, and picked up some 275 ish gallon tanks. 2 for fresh water that are mounted on the skid, one for diesel sitting on the lot and...
Money is a bit tight right now after the move. My water pump uses the 4 bolt fan clutch so sticking with stock for now there.
Swapping out the leaking fitting for a typical hose barb, that will likely happen once I know the hose size.
Sounds good, do I need to order a crossover pipe and send...
Found 2 problems with the cooling system today. Towed the flatbed across town to drop off the service bed at the new owners place and it was staying at 200-205 coolant temps. There's a slight dribble coming out of the heater hose fitting on the thermostat housing, and the fan clutch has died...
Looks like I found the exhaust leak, crossover pipe where it bolts to the passenger side manifold. Going to replace it with the diamond eye unit and get it ceramic coated, help with some performance but mostly to help the clutch hydraulics from getting cooked yet again
Familiar with the wind resistance and towing, just didn't expect it to slow things down more than a 6000 pound weight difference on nearly flat terrain there haha. Both previous trips on that section with heavier loads was 60mph with no temp problems and power to spare. Compared to balls to the...
Made it to the lake. The camper was the lightest weight of the 3 trips, but on highway 84 from northern New Mexico down to Sweetwater Texas had a crosswind that just, damn haha. 70-80 degrees outside, topped out at 55mph, and temps constant at 220F with the heater on. Pretty sure the engine...
That's what is supposed to be in the mail. Not a rush though since my laptop isn't able to use the software as mentioned above.
On the final trip down for the move. Taking slower over 3 days, stopped in Moab Utah for the night.
Hahaha soon enough. All I have left to move into the toy hauler is the kitchen stuff, then fill the water tank and ad insurance. The only package that hasn't arrived is the OBD 1 cable (hasn't shipped yet) so going to contact them on monday to change the shipping address.
The 3500HD got new...
Thanks I might take that offer up after I get down there. My laptop isn't capable of running it (Chrome operating system, program needs Windows).
Looking like the 3rd/final move trip will happen next week. The other packages I'm waiting for (air filter, oil, oil filter, and a water filter...
QST only commented about the Banks Idash system, mentioned the tablet is possible with sensors but not interested in it.
Filters are on the way along with the diagnostics stuff, should all be here by monday.
