How do you all get 6.2s to 300K miles

Yup, IIRC, looking at the ALDL connector, it will be the A and the B terminals. Turn on the ignition switch to run. Should be one flash followed by two flashes, for a cycle of three times, code 12 to let You know there is communication to the ECM. Then count flashes after that. They will repeat...

What did you do with your GMT400 today...or yesterday....

Before going any farther. I fired up the engine and run it one more time. The engine accelerates just fine up to about 2200 RPMs, it runs a little rough and makes its smoke to about 2600 RPMs. After that up to 3000 RPMS its smooth as can be and nor more smoke. Going to install the intake and run...

I didnt think the stuff in the pail looked dark enough to cause problems. Right now I just can not make up my mind. So far to pull this pump and install my original unit all there is is the turbo, fuel lines to the injectors, then fuel hose, IP gear bolts and the mounting nuts. If I install the...

Tried switching pump drivers with no improvement. I’m at a loss other than installing the original lift pump back onto the engine, I know it was properly functioning except the advance stepper motor shaft was seized up. Or else install the intake manifold and see if that makes a difference. I’m...

What did you do with your GMT400 today...or yesterday....

I installed the momentary switch from the Leroy Diesel lift pump harness into the relay and pump wire onto the Air Dog system. Now I can turn on the lift pump from under the hood and bleed the filters and drain the T-Valve without having to turn on the ignition switch from in the cab. Got that...

No, I never have. I’ve drained it several times but there never was water in the fuel.

A picture of the container hanging in a little more light. Now letting that pail of fuel from the T fitting set to determine if there is bio diesel present. If there is ANY amount of bio stuff will it separate out and settle in the bottom of the pail ? One thing I did see was quite a bit of...

Does this look too dark ? The previous refueling took about 20 gallons. I did not add any two stroke to that tank of fuel. The last refueling I added about a pint of two stroke, that was about another 20 gallons. And it was on this tank that the code about the optic sensor tripped. This is the...

    My new garage.

Nice scaffold. With the inverted V bracing in the middle of the walkway, will that make it feel somewhat tippy when stepping from one edge to the other 🤷 ? ? ? ?

What did you do with your GMT400 today...or yesterday....

I had fueled at the CENEX Zip Trip and mistakenly filled with their regular run of the mill diesel that most people fill up with, instead of their RoadMaster blend. I did add about a pint of TC-W3 two stroke oil plus about enough Stanadyne Performance Formula supplement to make up for the...

Tons of parts. (Help ID please)

Thank You GM for the display of Your goodies. You have a wonderful selection. The diamonds in the valley of that engine block is an especially good sign.

I will give that a try, draining out the T valve. I have seen no signage on the pumps that I use that advertises that any portion of the fuel is bio diesel.

    Newbie from the dark side

Seems most every vehicle I own is of a quirky nature. Triumph motorcycle, not just a Triumph but a 1974 Triumph T150 V Trident. Getting a top end rebuild. Then a 1978 MG B Roadster. Stepson taking it for a drive.

Had the wifey come out and hold the throttle at about 2200 RPMs. Right at the stage where it starts cutting out and blowing a lot of smoke. Intake manifold not yet on. Turbo bolted up so the main of the exhaust goes out the pipe. Pressure side of turbo to atmosphere. There is no air intrusion...

    Newbie from the dark side

Hello Grayman, and welcome to thetruckstop. Always nice when a new comer steps on in. I do want a Humvee, mainly a military unit. Just too deep in debt on this truck to want to step off and put in a bid for one of those military units, and, Denver area is not so far away that I would be willing...

None at all at idle. I never thought to engage the PTO option and check at higher revs. I’ll do that after it cools some this evening. Currently at 98*F out there which is not terrible but just taking a bit of a rest.

Also, one other question, is it okay to reuse the intake manifold gaskets ? I been getting the blue gaskets from NAPA, they always appear to be okay after removing the intake manifold. Seems I been removing and reinstalling IPs so frequently its been costing quite a bit for intake gaskets, about...

Have the used IP I just purchased from off the Hummer forum. Truck runs and no leeeeks. I have the heat shield and turbo bolted in position. Coolant is filled. No intake manifold as of yet. Was making sure this was going to fire and run first. Warmed the engine to about 175*. Installed the...

    Coolant flow

One thing to not do. After You get Your coolant system pressure pump, absolutely do not star or run the enjun with pressure in the system. It might not blow like a bomb but ittsa gonna blow out something when the coolant begins to warm and build pressure of its own.
