10-12 psi is pushing. max recomended is about 8 psi. once you hit 4 psi you'll notice a big difference.:D make sure you have the guages(EGT,Boost) to back it up. the pump will need to be turned up 1'/8-1/4 turn depending on how hot you want to push it. keep the EGT's below 1100F or pistons...
well atleast nobody can say you didn't try, and you might even get to say "I told ya so".:agreed: we'd all like to know the solution if you do find out.
I'm don't have a preference for brand name. right now it's got a cheap store brand on there. the good ones go on when they're on sale. mind you the oil doesn't ge very dirty when you keep topping it up again.:rolleyes5:
OK here's the deal. my square filter need to be fixed(leak) and I have the 6.5 setup.
Is there a tee for the drain line or just straight hose?
what size are the mounting bolts?
is there a thread on how to bleed this setup(never had to deal with it before)?
something as simple as a weeping line will add up to a leak. check real close around the front crossmember. lots of crap gets piled in there(snow/salt,mud). the hangers(where it bolted to the frame is another bad spot.
how to check for air/fuel leaks
These trucks were equipped with a combination fuel filter/water separator/fuel heater ("square" filter). If your truck is equipped with a "round" filter, see the procedure for early model trucks.

I'd first be looking for an air leak. it'll cause a whole lot of starting issues. make sure the gas cap is a diesel version too,see that one before, different pressure setting. also confirm is the water has been drained at the filter.
make sure he fixes the glow plug setup, unless you like...

the 6.2 and 6.5 are about he same in size and weight. the late 6.2s even share the same block. as AK said make sure you get all the accessories with it. the WP runs backwards compared to the serpentine setup. the other option if it doesn't come with everything is to run a 6.2 with the...
hopefully it's the end of the issues. the differences in the belts are night and day. I still gotta do the one for the PS on mine, just waiting for it to wear out. I figure end of January when it's -20 or so. :mad2: I like the challenge,:rof:
I can't find a model number on it. I know it's around to 20 years mark(type of wire used). it's rate at 12/50A or 6V 135A. it's 120V input. it has a load tester built in. if anybody has info for me that would be great, a manual would be even better:D
here's a couple of pics.
