And it got a new set of Bilstein's too. Man, it needed those. I don't get sea sick now! Turns out the front end parts are replacements and are all tight. The looseness must be in the rag joint or the steering box. That means more money for POWER GOODIES!

Well I'll throw this out there and see what you think. Before After Up close I'm not into the aftermarket wheels either. I think the quality/strength suffers on many and a lot of them are just plain ugly. But something tasteful and moderate is always cool. I used to have a...

Dang rita! I'd have given it a shot for that price. Even if you've got to buy some parts it's still worth that. But then again the reason I didn't go to that auction...I didn't have any money! I watched 2 or 3 HEAVY otc engine stands sell on purplewave a couple years ago too. Ya know the...

That would keep it from tipping over, no doubt. The lift isn't even mine in the first place. It's always avaliable so I use it. It's about at it's limit with a 6.5 anyway, so I'm looking for a high quality used OTC or some such. In the background to the right you can see a super heavy...

Yeah, he seemed like an honest guy. I'm sure you can get it worked out when you get back. That oil patch stuff is pretty overwhelming sometimes, but those guys usually have money to spend when the do get time off! I got the paint through Plains Mountain Truck in Sharon. But they probably...

    Really... heater core.

Maybe not as coincedental as you think. When the water pump went bad on my '94 I put some stop leak in because I had to drive it 3 more days before I could fix it. (didn't really help much though) So I FLUSHED the system when I did the pump to get the gunk out. Less than a week later...HEATER...

Power steering pump R+R re-using reservior

I've done this a couple times because I'm cheap (err broke) but I've got GM parts a plenty! Just have to get the right resivour on the 'good' pump. Question. How do you know when your pump is bad, if it's not broken? Seems simple enough, but... My 99 drives fine unless I crank the wheel...

Need a new Key FOB for the 1998 Suburban What do I need to do? Dealer?

I thought I did my 97 without jumping the DTC. I thought I turned the key on and held the lock button for 30sec or something like that. But who knows, that was several years ago! But how about that remote start idea? I've been rolling that around in my head for a while. Is it possible to...

It runs great. I get a little black smoke at start-up and on heavy acceleration, more than I think I should. But I think the injection system is original, so I'm sure it's coming due! The new GM T-stats and Dmax fan keep the temp rock solid, and I like that. Haven't pulled it hard, though...

THIS IS WHY YOU ALWAYS USE THE RIGHT TOOL FOR THE JOB!! Luckily, it was almost where I wanted it and nothing was damaged. More importantly, no one was hurt. I've used this hoist 3 times before on 6.5's and I usually put a 50lb bag of feed or something on the back. This time I didn't and it...

OK, here's the pics I promised. Bottom end together. Doing the 'studly' thing. Doing a 'test run' of the parts so I can admire my work and make motor noises. Got it together. Polished injector lines!...for now. Ready for installation.

Yes, in Victoria. You saw that ad too? Pretty good deal on the engines I thought. Gave $300 for both, one was just a long block and unknown condition/miles. The other was complete, running when it came in, and supposed to have about 40K on it. They were both NA motors so I think I should...

    Compound Turbo 6.5L

Just want to throw this out there for discussion. It's not been lost on me that the 6.4L Powerbroke has a compound twin setup. And it's about the same size CID-wise. I've seen those turbos off the engine and they are pretty tightly packaged. Don't know if anything can be done with them, but...

OK, maybe pics later. I can't seem to get photobucket to work right, so I'll have to postpone the eye candy until I can figure it out.

I know this is dragging on like a political debate, but here's a little update for anyone who cares. I've got the motor back together and in the truck. I found a guy not too far away that was selling two 1999 6.5's that were NA and had bottom end problems. Both taken from ambulances he...

    Walking J Designs?

My bad. You said OP so i assumed... If the suggestion to buy from Dennis was for me. I ordered a FTB kit. I already have an ATT. (but no good engine to put it on!)

    Walking J Designs?

Believe me, I tried. I'm not one of those people who waits 6 seconds then gives up and starts name calling. I'm a very paitient and understanding person. But in the end I had to request a refund from paypal because I couldn't get any parts or communication from Patrick.(BTW, the time from...

    HX40II Downpipe $$

You're saying that this adaptor will fit, or you're offering to make an adaptor that's made for my application? I'm gonna need some other parts from you as well. Whenever I get back to that project...

    HX40II Downpipe $$

I think I've seen that write up. But if memory serves correctly, they installed it on a 'square nose' chevy. (like a '90 burb or something) So the downpipe was all different anyway. I'd like to have an adaptor like this one so I can quickly swap between turbos while I test them to see what I...
