It would have made sense for GM to use the 4WD shaft and make the brake assembly work with that, but for some reason they didn't. That's the kind of thing I expect from ferd...
The output shaft is unique to the HD trans. It's close to a 4x4 shaft but not the same. My 95 has a solid backing plate on it that's different than yours so they may have changed it over the years. I'm pretty sure the guy you got it from was confused. I think all the 4500s would have had an...
Looks like the backing plate and misc other parts are MIA? The output shaft in that transmission is specific to that tail housing. Do you still have it? Also that trans should have the rare and desirable 'straight cut' planetary set. Hella strong at the expense of a little whine in 1st gear...
Understood but the Dmax and the Cummins are DI engines that don't suffer the heating issues that we seem to encounter. Probably about the 3rd most common topic on this page!

I think it's the ticket. Maybe not this turbo, but another VGT of some kind if not. I was just too dumb to figure out the programming to control it like that guy did. Glad he came along! And I'm glad you're jumping into it with both feet.
It's nice that someone put that controller together. I always thought that a cable to the cab was a good compromise until the controller became available. You're not going to adjust on the fly really, just set it for the job at hand and fine tune as you go along. Better than nothing I figured.
Could have been on one of the other sites, but a guy put one on and made the control manual because there wasn't an automatic option. Then Fleece came out with a controller but it was really for other Dodge rigs, not universal. Come to think of it, the guy had no hood and the exhaust went...
Are all the HX40 compressor housings 4" inlet? The CKO ones seem to be 3" but I didn't know if Holset ever made one that way or not. I'd swap the battery and airbox for a better setup then do a 4" intake, but that takes time I just don't have right now!
OH SNAP! Looks to be T4 as well. I thought they were bolt on, guess I didn't pay enough attention when the guys did them before. Make this thing work right and maybe we will get someone to cast a new manifold for it!
I saw that whipple setup. I watched it out of curiosity, but I didn't realize it was the only thing avaliable for the van/hummer guys. Some of the marine 6.5's had supercharger on them too, I think.
about 750 I think. Pricey, but I'd buy one if I could get the best of both worlds with it. Even if the Holset isn't the best, it will control any CANBUS vgt so maybe something else works better.
