Hmmm I need thicker skin ??
Back on point...If the tranny is hunting around at 45 mph why should that be the reason for a lack of boost ? I don't know what size tires my Dually came with factory but it had 245's on it and the speedo was off say...6 mph approx so I know the "bigger" tires had...
REALLY ? Cause I read also lack of boost. Is that described some other way ??My Dually trans did the same thing and I didn't have a lack of boost with my GM8 just annoying that the tranny could not make up it's mind. Maybe he should look into that Holset VGT. It might better suit his needs.
I disagree. You guys gotta remember, I have seen Joeys truck personally.(I love his front axle swap, I so wanna do it.).It's easy to speculate what big tires do but Joeys truck is setup right and gear appropriately. Granted both my rigs had no computer(thank god for that) but as far as the tires...
from the Diesel Garage article I posted.
Update: Recent information I have received from a 1998 12v owner says that some late 12v engines have "53" blocks. This owner knows because he HAS one. His truck has a build date of 11-97. He did say, however, that he has had no problems with his block...
I doubt they are affecting you much with 4.56s. I run 4.56s with 35's on a 135hp NA 6.2 and it pulls better than when it had stock tires as the motor was always screaming past it's torque range before.
I know, just throwin it out there.....
My 93 had 35's also with a 6.5 and a GM4...4.10's...It...
My 93 came with a set of his marine specials. they seemed ok. I was gonna reuse them in the CUCV after having them tested. Would I buy them from him ?? No. I only get remans from a local shop where I can go back in person and express my dismay....
We had an 8.2 NA in an old C60 utilty truck. It was a gutless pig to drive but the mexicans beat the ever living shit out of it and the only issues that truck ever had was the damn brakes and the spline on the throttle lever on the governer box stripped out. to my knowledge the truck is still...
I'd bet the harness to the IP is chaffed under the intake and blew the ecm fuse. Happened on my 95. If you have No SES light and no glow plug light chances are that is the right direction. Can't remember where my fuse was but I think there is a fuse block under the hood as well as the dash.
I don't think they were ever intended to be rebuilt even though many do. I liken them to 3208's. Throw aways. Back 10-15yrs ago a new 6.5 Goodwrench longblock could be had for 3-4k right from GM so why bother rebuilding ? Basically none of these engines were designed for a rebuild or they would...
