Yes it is easy to F up. There's a little spring on the clutch fork where the TO bearing goes. That spring's little fingers must be under the TO bearing "rear" flange, not on top of it.
Here's the service bulletin from LUK...
Guess i need to charge more? :hihi: I usually charge $5-600 to swap over an engine, that is if the replacement is drop in ready. If not that price goes up to about 8-900. Last 6.5TD headgasket job i did start to finish was $1200 in labor, and that beat every shop around by a lot.
As far as...
Give the dash a whack for the alt gauge. it could be stuck from reading so high. The one in the K-5 liked to stick sometimes, but it would read low until i gave the dash a whack then it would come back up to around 13.5 or so.
A rad from a gasser would drop in since AFAIK it's the same rad...
Last trans service i did on a 4L80E was a friends dump truck. He had no overdrive at all and was getting solenoid codes. When the fluid was put in Royal Purple trans fluid was used, so the fluid went in purple.
It came out pitch black and it stunk like i couldn't believe. This truck didn't...
Holy crap. We got slammed like i couldn't believe. I was out doing deliveries for work when i got caught in the middle of it. Before it started coming down like crazy you'd have though it was 8PM and it was just touching 5:00. The skies had this evil blackness to them and you coudl see the...
As far as the input shaft the input shaft on my SM465 is a 10 spline 1 1/8 diameter shaft as well. GM used that input shaft on pretty much all of their truck manual transmissions. I'd bet that it's the 10 spline 1 1/8 diameter shaft.
Yea the MAF was a very limited thing it seems. I've never seen one in person, as i've never seen anything other than "F" code engines that were OBD II. It's probably one of the ways the ECM "figures out" how much EGR to allow into the intake. The ECM sees X amount of air and knows to put in Y...
stock it would've been a 599. 929 and 141 are good blocks IMO. I don't like the early 506s however as they are very prone to cracking around the oil squirters. Gm was very late to the game with the oil squirters. IH had them in the 6.9s.
What about the speed sensor? Where is it in an NV4500 4x4 setup? Could it be toasted? I know where the speedo cable goes in my K-5 is at the rear output of the transfer case. I'm guessing it'd be the same for your truck.
The ECM would strictly be for any emissions crap, which is doesn't...
i could've sworn the air boxes between K47 and non-K47 were different.
When i got my round filter box from a friends 98 K2500 the larger of the 2 filters did not fit in the box. the small of the 2 fit perfectly. The difference in the fiter sizes isn't huge, but it is a significant amount.
Kenny there's an idle screw on the linkage. Look down at the throttle arm on the IP itself, around where the cable connects. You'll see the idle screw close to the IP case where the throttle shaft goes through the case. Tighten it to bring the idle up, loosen it to bring it down.
My K-5 did the same thing when i had the air intake silencer deleted. Not enough restriction for the CDR to work properly at idle but even sneeze at the throttle and the blowby would almost vanish.
I was worried until i inadvertently passed my hand past the opening to the air cleaner and...
