There is no special procedure required to use synthetic oil. Sometimes a flush is in order if you want to extend your oil change frequency to it's maximum immediately. This is on a case by case basis.

The bad thing for me is my OCD requirement to regrease anything that has been under water. After a few trips through the deep stuff, it get's old greasing all of them over and over. Sealed bearings make my life easier.
I have an 02 Kawi 650 Prairie (Brute Force now). It's good, the v twin power is awesome, but the belt drive is noisy. I passed on the Polaris quads because of all of the grease fittings.

Additive packages can vary significantly from one product to another, even from the same manufacturer. Mixing like that is of limited benefit, if any, and my have negative consequences. It is impossible to tell whether you are helping or hurting. I doubt you are helping much.
