I hope it's just a hiccup. I filled up 360 miles ago, so it's definitely not caused by filling while the engine is running, which I never do anyways.
The last time I got a CEL on this truck was 3 years ago when one of the batteries died. Dealer replaced it under warranty and I've never had any...
I have a 2006 LBZ with 58,900 miles.
Last night, the CEL came on while driving.
Today the CEL went out, but I finally got a chance to read the codes and found a P0460 code.
According to my book, the P0460 code indicated trouble with the Fuel Level Sensor Circuit.
My fuel gauge appears to...
Correct!
This is why 90% of my tools are Craftsman tools.
One caveat, Craftsman's lifetime warranty is only good for hand tools, power tools and things like hydraulic jacks, etc., only carry a 12 month warranty unless otherwise stated when you buy them. You do need to keep those receipts.
To me, it would have been much easier just to take it OFF and store it in my tool box with the rest of the towing equipment and put it back in when I need it.
But, hey, whatever floats your boat. For sure, you will never lose it now. :)
I have no problem with what he was doing, if he would do it in a controlled environment at a race track and all by himself. But on public streets he is a disaster waiting to happen.
If there had been a car crossing one of those intersections while he was doing "his thing" he would not have had...
He may be good at it, but all he needs is to hit a chuckhole, a dog running out in front of him or a car crossing one of those intersections, and they will need a shovel to pick him up.
Wow! You're getting 250K miles on one tank of fuel and you are complaining? I'm lucky if I get 500 miles on one tank full.
Just givin' ya a hard time! :D
I'm glad you got the fuel problem resolved.
Very true, but now you are talking a lot of money and not very easily duplicated by other family members.
I've always wanted to get a 70 gal auxiliary tank installed, which would allow me to rotate the fuel much more easily. But they cost a lot more than I can justify right now, and it adds a...
Very true, but they are a bitch to pick up and load in the back of the truck if I have to leave in a hurry.
Let's see: 55 gallons of diesel x 7.3 lb/gal = 401.5 lbs + 30 lbs for the steel drum = 431.5 lbs -- I may be strong, but I'm not that strong to be able to pickup a drum weighing over 430...
Wow! If he only paid $0.65 per gallon for diesel fuel up there in Alaska, that fuel must be really old. I haven't seen diesel fuel prices that low around here for at least 10 years or more.
Most definitely has to be the old high sulfur fuel, which is much more stable than this ULSD...
How are you storing it?
Have you added any fuel stabilizers? If so, which one(s)?
I currently have two 5-gallon plastic diesel fuel containers that are sealed air tight. I usually add about 1.5 oz of Stanadyne Performance Formula to each container and try to rotate them every three or four...
You have to be careful about fuel that is labeled "OFF ROAD" diesel fuel. It may still be the new ultra low sulfur ULSD fuel, but off road diesel fuel is treated with a red dye indicating that road taxes have NOT been paid. Getting caught with untaxed diesel fuel in your truck could cause you a...
Looking at the aftermaths of the earthquake in Haiti and Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans has demonstrated the fact that a time may come when one may need to "bug out" in a hurry.
In the event of a SHTF scenario (earthquake, hurricane, flood, civil unrest, etc.), it may be necessary that you...
I will never own one of these trucks without 4 wheel drive. The Duramax engine is so heavy that if you are unloaded you will get stuck on wet grass. Any loss in fuel economy, if at all, is worth it when you consider the increased resale value, added safety of 4 wheel drive in inclement weather...
