It has the elevated idle for when it's really cold out, but i want to hook it up so i can speed it up when i want. Pin 6 on the bottom connector of the ECM is for PTO, push set on the cruise and it will go up to 1150 RPM, resume goes to 1700 RPM i think. Max power did a write up on this at the...
Hey guys, Im sorta new to the duramax world, finally got one! Anyway i want to do the High Idle mod on my LLY. Went to the dealer and got a pin for the ECM but it's the wrong one. The one they gave me turns out to be the same as the pin's i already had from a LB7 i did high idle on. The part...
I've done a few, the right side is the worst but it's not so bad. Unbolt the CV shaft from the axle and move it to the side. The axle will pop out from the housing, problem is there is a little washer inside that falls out of place so you have to take the bolts out that hold the right side of...
This isn't a technical post so mod's if it's a problem feel free to delete it. Just thought i would update. As my signature show's i've made a few changes to my fleet. Came across a deal I couldn't pass up on the 1993 in my sig, bought it for $500 with a bad tranny but a very strong 6.5 NA GM...
Found the problem, somehow the pushrod managed to poke a hole in the rocker arm! on the #1 exhaust valve. Gonna change the lifter, push rod, rocker, and retainers and see what happens.
Hey guys, got a 1995 Chevy 6.5td in the shop here, it's making a very loud poping noise out the turbo. I took the air cleaner off and i can feel the pulse every time it pops out the inlet side of the turbo. Truck seems to run good. Kinda stuck here need some help! This is a "S" motor BTW.
Whatsup guys. I have the chance to buy a 1981 K20 with 350 and a SM465. My grandpa bought this truck brand new. The 350 runs but not well. I'm thinking I wanna drop a 6.2 in it but i've got some questions. This truck got a brand new radiator a few years ago, but it's not the big 4 core like...
Thanks guys. A little background on the truck. I bought it in '05 with 93,000 miles. It now has 125,000 miles. At 103,000 I put new head gaskets, injectors, injector pump, glow plugs, and a timing set. I always use white powerservice and 2-cycle oil when i fill up. I am not 100% sure that the...
I cleared the codes and it finally threw one that made sense to me, code 36. I pulled the upper intake off removed the optic sensor filter, put new batteries in and she starts just fine. Still smokes a little and stumbles for a few seconds but it's done that as long as I've had it.
i'll do the checklist later when i have more time. I know it dont mean much but injectors were new Delphi's 20,000 mi ago. Truck ran fine till I went on a trip towing a trailer last month, ever since it's been doin this. We own a gas station so it's always been filled at the same place untill...
My 95 6.5 is at it's old ways of pissing me off!! lol When i go to start it it takes a good 10-15 sec of cranking to get it to go. Smoke coming out the pipe the whole time cranking. Yesterday i had to crank for 15 sec, wait a bit so the glows would cycle fully again, and then start cranking...
The pitman arm is on the steering gear box and the idler is mounted to the frame on the other side. They both are attached to the tierod bar and are a common problem. Jack up the truck and wiggle the wheels side to side.
I do all my own maintenance. I sometimes hate doing it just because I work on everybody elses stuff all day long, but for the most part I like it. Oil/Filter/Grease every 3,000 on all 3 vehicles. At the same time I check every thing possible front to back top to bottom. If I find something...
You could try rocking it back and forth to get them loose but it isn't the best. Your proably gonna have to start pulling the wheels off and get the drums off somehow so you can see what locked. Are all the wheels locked? Or just a few?
Think it was $8 or so my cost and it takes a little more then one bottle, I did mine last month. The way I did it was take a spray bottle, like a windex bottle or somethin, stick the sprayer tube down into the fill hole and pump it out into a bottle. This stuff smells really bad.
Yea they use Iridium plugs, kinda expensive, but they should only need changing every 100,000 miles. If your over 100,000 I would do plugs, wires, fuel filter, and air filter. I've got a '00 GTP and I'm about to do this myself.
