Lost out on the used 1, so I will be putting Leroy’s 1 in this weekend. Are people actually installing them in the front bumper, or behind it in the chassis by the radiator?
I have to buy the one from my buddy because it’s his dad’s, but I am getting a good deal and get to test it first. It doesn’t have sticker but comes mounted on a heat sink (gold in color) and has a pretty long cable. It does say it’s made in the USA and has a resistor inside.
A friend said he might have a spare pmd when he swapped his blown 6.5 for a gasser a few years ago. I got the one one from Leroy’s but I can always return it for another part that I will sure need, like lift pump. I took the truck to AutoZone, but there were no codes. I drove it 30 minutes out...
It appears to be a quick disconnect plug. I will take a pic of it this weekend. The passenger side did not have this additional connector. So it’s a fused wire that goes back to the computer showing the glow plugs are being energized?
I watched the video and am not sure that’s the same noise. The fact that it is hit or miss makes it tough. There is no load after idling and then accelerating while in park. And there is a definite load doing up to 90 mph on the freeway and it did not do it. The randomness almost makes me feel...
This is a carryover from a previous thread that got really long. I have a1997 K3500 and just got the glow plugs fixed, so I can start it in weather under 60 degrees. As I stated before this problem is intermittent. Sometimes just after idling, and sometimes when I’m driving down the road. What...
Well..., it got in the high 30s so I worked on the passenger side glow plugs. Super pain to get fender out, as I had to cut off 2 of the bolts that just spun. And I had to drop the exhaust pipe and loosen clamps all the way to rear of truck. Removing the glow plugs was the easiest part. One had...
