    Smog Readiness

There's no military sticker, this motor was specifically built from scratch for me except it's the HD version which, I hope isn't causing me issues now.

    Smog Readiness

Got it, I was thinking that was what was happening. Will the drive cycles progress if there are "pending codes"? Thanks Will

    Smog Readiness

Hello all, Need advice with emissions. My 98 K1500 has less than 1000 miles since I installed a new GEP motor last year. Runs great but had to have it smogged and I was told the OBDII readiness monitors were "not ready". Apparently there are not enough drive cycles. I'm having difficulty finding...

    I need air condition help

When I mistakenly put my orifice tube in incorrectly (backwards), the orifice tube was jammed so far down the tube I almost couldn't get it out. Luckily I was able to but, what I'm trying to say is that the pressure involved will definitely send an obstruction deep into your system.

    I need air condition help

With high pressure on one side sounds like a blockage somewhere. I had a similar situation only to discover that I was not paying attention to what I was doing and I put in the orifice tube backwards. After fixing that everything works great.

    Loud tick

Check engine oil. What viscosity of oil is in the engine? Is the drive belt in good condition, free and clear of everything. Sometimes a belt can become fraid and slap as it goes round. That would be another test, slip the belt off and run it for a moment to eliminate the accessories. Overall...

You could try replacing the CDR valve if it hasn't been replaced in awhile.

    Is it a "Unicorn"?

I have a 98 K1500 6.5 extended cab and it does not have a third door...yet. One day I would like to take on that project.

    Glow Plug Question

You can test them with an OHM meter. Not sure what the resistance should be off the top of my head...should be easy to look up the resistance on the web. Then, look for a variance between the glow plugs. If there is an oddball, replace it. I did this for a Mercedes CDI and found a bad one, which...
