    1998 6.5 shuts off past 170° f

This is what we call "Economy of Scale". In your case, standardization is the key. It is easier to have one type of engine and IP to maintained. It is like Southwest airlines with all Boeing 737 vs American with a variety of airplanes from Boeing and Airbus with all models within those mfg...

    Help with a 95 6.5 no start

Keep in mind that you were buying a project truck with PO who did not fix it properly. Obviously, if you resold it, hopefully, it is not a project truck anymore. I hardly bought a project truck. Once in a while, I bought project computer which is a lot easier to deal with than a project truck.

    1998 6.5 shuts off past 170° f

I have a truck with DS4 and I don't have any headache. LOL!!! I got the feeling that OP bought the truck which had been having trouble to begin with. Not all truck with DS4 is a problem truck. There are probably some percentage of them that are having problem but not all.

    Help with a 95 6.5 no start

That absence of starter rear bracket will cause something like this. At least it did not cause the starter to drop and take a chunk of the engine with it and then you have to fix the starter bolt holes.

DON'T EVEN TRY TO START WITHOUT THE STARTER BRACKET.

You may want to summarize what you did so far?

    Help with a 95 6.5 no start

On the starter, make sure you install the stud on the back of the starter to a bracket and held by a nut. The installation of that nuts is not very easy as you can imagine and a lot of people left it without the bracket or the nut or both causing big problems. The PMD does not have anything to...

6.5 Turbo Fuel System Diagrams (and advice)needed

A little different on the 93-95 since we actually have the 1st and only alternator in that space above P/S Pump. Moral of the story is that FFM can relocated anywhere it make sense. It is not a moving part.

6.5 Turbo Fuel System Diagrams (and advice)needed

And, you can raise the FFM with M10-1.50 threaded rod cut to the desired length (in my case about 9 inches) so those hoses can go on top of the upper intake. Use a few combination of nuts to prop the FFM on the threaded rod. Not as neat as it is going under the intake but you can monitor the...

    Glow Plug Question

If it does not give you any problem, I would install it back.

    CDR (PCV) valve cleaning?

From what I understand, the turbo create a small suction to the CDR so the oil vapor will not build up inside the engine. That is why it is connected to the turbo. I can be wrong, though. But it seems logical. If you maintained the oil change schedule, I don't think the CDR will need...

    Glow plug discussion.

That is confusing. Are they Bosch or DieselRX GPs? Great question. IMO, at this point if I need to change GPs, I will get ACDelco 60G.

    Glow plug discussion.

Last time somebody bought this and post, it said Welman (sp?)

    Crank no start

I used Google Translate on Chrome so hopefully the translation is good. We cannot tell you exactly what is wrong since we don't have access to the RV. Also, RV may be setup slightly different than the trucks. Here is my suggestion: Check the fuse? Test the starter? Tap the starter during...

Setting tps on 93 6.5 diesel

Since GM4 is a vacuum actuated turbo and a 93 does not have any vacuum pump, you need to replace the wastegate with a mechanical wastegate. The mechanical wastegate is hold by a spring. So, the wastegate will close up to a release temperature. The mechanical wastegate is also known as...

Hard start and grey smoke after repair.

IMO, the suburban just needs to be driven for some miles/km (at least 100 or so) to get all the kinks out of the engine.

Lift Pump Problem - OPS or relay?

I suspect, the voltage should only be there when engine is running? You cannot measure anything till engine is running. If there is no voltage when the engine is running, then the engine would not run. Then, that is the problem, so we need to diagnose: Did you hook up the additional relay...

Lift Pump Problem - OPS or relay?

They have not posted since 2013, so I don't think they will post after your question. It is not complicated, what year is your truck? There are subtle differences within the different years. If you replace OPS, make sure you get ACDelco OPS. I am not sure what is Ried Tekk, is that a...
