The way I understand is the coolant will prevent corrosion.
Distilled water will need ions and will take it from the engine metal if the coolant is not there so it will corrode faster than you think.
I would just get the right coolant concentration.
The t-stat is up on top, you should not...
In the past, when I had to replace the brake lines.
I could not find the one with the correct length.
IIRC, the one at the store are for the 1/2 Ton trucks and therefore, it is shorter.
The mechanic that did it, told me to bring the part to a hydraulic shop nearby.
They made the same exact...
Bug investation is pesky.
There were posting before that even after the Biocide, the dead bug needs to be filtered out or clean somehow otherwise the bug will go to the IP.
I did not read the whole thread but where did you get the sample from?
If it is at the t-drain valve then, check the fuel canister.
Things can accumulate at the bottom.
IIRC, some people have used the orifice used in Ford truck to get better AC performance.
Unfortunately, I am not sure if the thread are here or the other forum.
There should be website who specify how much refrigerant is needed.
As for the low pressure switch, I am not sure if they are even ACDelco anymore.
I think the brand is Four Seasons who are the makers of AC components for this truck.
IMO, in TX, it is probably worth having a good AC Shop do...
As I said above, the low pressure switch on the dryer is easy to replace and it is relatively cheap.
No need to evacuate the system to replace.
I had to replace a couple of those over the years and it always fixed that erratic cycling issue in mine.
Yours may be different, I am just relaying my...
On this compressor, a lot of times the low pressure switch attached to the dryer is weak or bad.
The good news is, you can replace it without evacuating refrigerant.
Try replacing this part first since it is only less than $20 a few years ago.
Yes, the R-134 needs to be in the correct range of...

You have to do trial and error for the spring to use also.
I bought one from Heath Diesel, less trial and error since the direction suggest around a certain length.
Then I just have to fine tune it to get the desired max psi by a few mm.
IIRC, I only did it once and that was 15 years ago.
Not...
The negative sign is very important.
IIRC, the desired range is between -0.50 to -1.50.
Heath Diesel recommended -1.94 so I think that may be at the edge of the good limit.
So -0.70 is within that limit.
