BTW, I found that a product called "Aerokroil" from Kano Labs (via mail order) works quite well... substantially better than PB Blaster, which I have also used.

I'm having trouble envisioning how this worked. If you used the 11/32" bit to drill out the glow plug body completely, won't the remnants of the glow plug drop into the engine?
I don't understand.

Looks like a good score Missy. I highly recommend using some decent quality heat transfer paste and torque the screws holding it down evenly and not too tight. Lastly, get a decent quality extension cable. I prefer the ones with factory style weatherpack connectors.
I've had the PMD/FSD out of...
Heh, I see 6.5 diesels running around pretty often.. They are usually either Suburbans or more-likely pickups... and yes, they look totally thrashed. Most of them I see are usually running daily duty as utility trucks or as haulers for landscaping or construction businesses. They are usually...
Hi Mike!
It's kind of you to notice! It's "not quite" for sale yet, as I have been busy and I'm still struggling with letting it go. I know that it would be really difficult to buy anything like it, i.e. a mint-condition, lifted and built, turbo diesel, short-wheelbase 4x4 with lots of toys...
OK, that's a good question. Let me recap. Please correct me if I make any factual errors in my description.
What to do if your 6.5 diesel has a "Service Engine Soon" light with an 88 TDC Offset Error.
1) The rig threw a DTC code of 88 TDC Offset Error.
2) Why did the engine throw this...
OK, based on all the good advice here, I did one final adjustment. The TDCO value is now -1.5. No codes, running just fine. I'm stopping.
Thanks again for all the quick responses and gracious advice. You guys are really wonderful!
Sincerely,
Rob :)
I have run B99 for the last 10 years, and it has never caused any issues that I know of. I purchase commercial ASTM-certified B99 from Sequential Biofuels here in Oregon. I also used it in my Suburban before I sold it. Total I have run B99 for around 100K miles with zero issues. The only thing I...
I'm not really sure how many miles on the IP. I bought the rig with 153K miles, it now has 198K. I know that the service history showed that the IP was replaced sometime before I got it but I've lost my notes... A guess is that it likely has around 80K on it.
I have been running B99 biodiesel...
OK, I think I got this fixed... for perhaps 50 starts... :)
Here's what I did:
1) I moved the IP to vertical, scribed a mark to indicate vertical, then bumped it 1/16" towards the PASSENGER side.
2) Did TIMESET and TDCO LEARN. Result: Desired/Actual/TDCO Offset = 9.0/9.0/+2.02
3)...
Hi guys,
You have been following my saga http://www.thetruckstop.us/forum/showthread.php?43078-So-I-m-minding-my-own-business-and-I-get-a-code-88-error-TDC-Offset-Error regarding getting a TDC Offset Error.
