Anybody using the 6.5 starters from Rockauto? Any bad experiences with this unit? Who has the best deal for a new starter?

filter fuel tap or "T" on line to IP?

To the best of my knowledge its true. Years ago when you could buy galvanized gas cans they carried a warning on them to not use with diesel fuel due to galvanic flaking. Since most gas cans are now made of plastic, you don't see this warning. It has to do with the reaction between the zinc and...

filter fuel tap or "T" on line to IP?

Diesel fuel and galvanized fittings do not go together. A chemical reaction will occur between the galvanized piping and the diesel fuel. The galvanizing will flake off and contaminate the diesel fuel. Only brass , SS or black iron should be used.

    Surging, Stalling and engine miss

Well, I guess I should have done the wipers too! HaHa Engine RPM is 600 RPM +- 4 RPM I'll need to check fuel mileage over the next several weeks. I'm hoping for some improvement over what I was previously getting. 14 to 16 MPG would be great in my book.

    Surging, Stalling and engine miss

I got my truck back from Northwest Fuel Injection Service on Monday. It runs very smooth and starts instantly. The following work was accomplished: New Duratherm glows installed. Old plugs were severely swelled and I was unable to get them removed. New injectors were installed. Old injectors...

    Surging, Stalling and engine miss

Air filter gage indicates 50% restriction and is still in the green. Will try the clear tubing on the return line. As far as I can tell, there has been no change in mileage. Mileage has always been low around 12 MPG. Idle RPMs per dash gage indicate around 500-550 and jump up to 700-800 when it...

    Surging, Stalling and engine miss

Below is the diagnostic sheet. In need help resolving issues as described in the header. After installing a new PMD from PMD cable with no improvement I am inclined to believe it is a fuel problem, especially since the fuel reading is so high. The pressure reading is always between 5 and 7 lbs...

    Getting the hot air out.

Is rain water or water from a car wash an issue? Does it drain directly on top of the engine? Is there a possibility of "cold" water hitting hot engine componets causing cracking? I am not being negative to your effort, just curious.

Time to unveil another product ( GLOW PLUG TOOL )

Thanks for the advice Matt! I would hate to break one off with high torque. I assume you mean to keep the RPM slow and low. I'll try Harbor freight. We have several locally.

Time to unveil another product ( GLOW PLUG TOOL )

I have a 1/4" 18V impact driver ordered. I'll be trying other GPs when it arrives and I get my adapters like FastJohnny is using. Fastjohnny; Any advice as to where the best place is to get the 1/4" hex to 3/8" socket adapter?

I'm still working up the nerve to try the other GPs, between other jobs around the house.

Time to unveil another product ( GLOW PLUG TOOL )

As far as I can tell the GP tool was against the block on the #2 cylinder. The GP was still in the tool in the proper location when I backed off. I have not tried any other GPs as of yet. Do you have any advice for removing broken tips from the injector hole? What do you reach in with to remove...

Time to unveil another product ( GLOW PLUG TOOL )

This concept sounds interesting. Did you have any that were really stuck good? Did you use any lubricant? Any other tips? Was this a standard 12" extension, or did you modify it in any way to adapt to your drill?
