Hi guys, just giving an update, had to drive back to the uk and received a diagnosis in minutes, DS4 pump buggered, low and high res, atleast she got me home, that fixed, a couple of weeks seeing family and off we went again. 1000 miles from home and doing fine! Thanks for all of your input!

Cant get to the bottom of it!

Hi again guys, had a new development if it means anything to you. After getting the computer cleared of fault codes I finally managed to get off the field, drove about 4 miles, stopped and switched off while I went into a shop, started back up in limp mode with the code 17 (high resolution...

Cant get to the bottom of it!

When it goes on to limp mode I am getting code 13 fuel shut off circuit. Obviously the fuel is not shutting off but it is triggering the limp mode all the same. That is what has happened every time. They are all cleared now so when I drive again I am hoping that the original lift pump...

Cant get to the bottom of it!

Would it not be delivering the exact amount of fuel it is supposed to when on limp mode? It seems like that would allow me to monitor it both before and during limp mode but not see what caused the limp mode triggering.

Cant get to the bottom of it!

Hi guys, It is all getting a bit deep for my skills. Limp mode may just be a english term for it, it is the get you home mode triggered by the computer to save the engine, I have no idea what it would be known as over there but all gears just low power. Starting to think its a long limp home...

Cant get to the bottom of it!

Starting to understand, would an OBD2 reader with an OBD1 connector converter read the info from the ds4 as it would from an OBD2 unit. I see converter cables on ebay but did not know even if a reader would give me more info than the paperclip/wire technique

Cant get to the bottom of it!

Hi NVW, I have done as you said and have cleared the codes, now showing nothing. Only problem is the bloody snow is still falling and cant take her for a test drive to see if it kicks back in. Will, thanks also for your help, I am learning from lots of research over the last few weeks but I am...

Cant get to the bottom of it!

Just as a thought, as I do not have a OBD1 reader I have not cleared the code after replacing the lift pump, as it does not come straight on could it be coming back to bite me in the arse or would it come on as start up if it was not clearing?

Hi NVW, I could not find a fuse for the fuel shut off but checked and cleaned up all the fuses a couple of weeks back as I remember you advised it back then. thanks for advice

Cant get to the bottom of it!

Hi Will, sorry I didn't round the other posts up, I had a new temp gauge fitted. The misfire turned out to be my ignorance of the limp mode, this seems to be that original problem confused for misfiring, obviously progressing and getting worse. The bus is definitely OBD1 connector but to be...

Cant get to the bottom of it!

Hi folks, I am having a problem, nearly 1000 miles and 3 countries from home, cant find a mechanic with OBD1 reader. Brit over on the European continent, been struggling with it for a few weeks I have limited mechanical knowledge, not nill but limited. Had some advice from here which took me...

    missfire

Will I'm sorry mate but I am as stuffed as you. I have the hood and trunk but I'll be buggered if I know what you would call the storage locker, but any how, it's the hatch door just behind the front wheel on the picture.
