they don't come loose, they become dry and start to make a clunk while turning. You can hear it as well as feel it through the steering wheel.

i will hope for a head gasket with ya. unfortunatly all i have seen are cracked heads though.... thats only on 6.5's - haven't had a 6.2 come my way yet....

i'd go with ppe. They are more common and you can upgrade to a hot or hot +2 later on.

the tick is better known as the typewriter tick. It's common in all duramaxes and is completly normal.

Initially there was a clutched alternator available. That was too expensive for gm (my assumption) so they pulled it quick ! Right now the fix that has fixed em all for me is the LMM belt. It's a sopfter tackier belt and i have ZERO COMPLAINTS on this belt.

As said before.... 04.5 - 05 LLY's are rated at 310 hp. 06 lly's are rated at 310 hp but are identical - internally and externally - to the lbz 06 - 07 lbz's are rated at 360. 06 LLY's have the black and red duramax emblem and have vin code 2 06 lbz's have the blue emblem and have vin code D

PPE used to provide the blocker plate. They may still. Give them a call and see if you can get the blocker plate.

My honest opinion... just for mileage... don't remove the DPF. Couple reasons - I have many customers with dpf's. When they come in i look at their dic and see where they are at - usually 16 - 18.... I look at mine with the dpf off and it reads 14.3. Now i understand these are not...
