I like the way the company I drive for did most of our trucks. On big rigs some have a couple of drain plugs on the pan.
They instaled a female hydrolic fitting in one of the holes. They don't drain the oil they pump it out with a air driven trash pump directly into used oil tank. Only thing...
This weekend I will try and fabricate a TurboMaster for the HX40II. Which should be pretty easy given a little modification to the stock arm and pot.
From my understanding of the Turbo Master. It is just a way to hold the waste gate shut in place of vaccume on the GMx turbos. With the HX40II...
That is why I said you need a can (actuator) with a 8 lb spring. So you can raise it up from 8 lbs.
What the MBC does is hold the waste gate shut until it has enough pressure to move the ball bearing in the MBC. When it moves the ball bearing pressure then flows threw the MBC to the actuator and...
Sure no problem.
This can explain it better than I can.

With longer hose you can mount it anywere you want. They are real simple to make yourself.
All it has in it is a spring with a ball bearing. The tighter you...
+1 The only thing a longer rod is going to do is not let the waste gate close.
It is the spring.
How ever many pounds the spring is you can not make it open any lower. If you can get a can with a 8 lb spring you can adjust it up from 8 lbs. All you need is a MBC (manual boost controler). You...
Do you have a trailer brake box wired in? I have caught mine with the light on with no trailer hooked up. I found water was getting in the back of the plug on the back bumper causing it to turn on.
+1 on glove box light.
I would like to get better MPG also. If a 195 t stat would help I would give it a try. Like other I'm already running at 210 not towing. So I might also need to do a system flush and clean.
I have seen some people put CLR in there cooling system to clean it out. I just don't know if I want to...
Will be keeping a eye on this one. For some reason I can't open the pdf file.
Would be intersting to know if this bypasses the pressure valve and makes shifs at full line pressure. That would lower clutch pack slip, lower temp, and wear.
Not to hijack this thread. (he should get the point by now)
Is there any info on these GMx turbos as in flow rate, cfm, lbs per min?
Been looking can't find any good info.
I got another cab question.
Was there ever a SC SB 1/2 ton 6.5 2 wd?
I have seen a 4 wd 3/4 ton SC SB 6.5 but never a 1/2 2 wd SC SB 6.5.
I have seen a Dodge 3/4 ton SC SB Cummings 2 wd.
