What did you do with your GMT400 today...or yesterday....

A quick Google search only comes up with very old results. If anyone knows how to get in contact with the guy, I'm might give him a try. It is a '98. So, ODB2 unfortunately.

Inline between the PCM and the glow plug controller. I'd prefer that over a manual button. Re-programming the PCM has crossed my mind, maybe if I ever decide to get a tune. Probably not, I'd rather put the money into a DB2 conversion. Shipping the PCM to and back from the US will probably cost...

What did you do with your GMT400 today...or yesterday....

That's what I have been doing most of the time. Right now I'm getting the truck ready for the yearly inspection. Should be road legal again next week. Hopefully some day soon I will find the time to try the resistors. I can't remember the values, but I have a couple of different ones to play...

What did you do with your GMT400 today...or yesterday....

I have no idea what is under there. Definitely not a Power Master though. I did upgrade the cables. I made my own using 35mm2 and 75mm2 wire. I know it started better after that upgrade. I can't remember when I changed the glow plugs and when I did the cable modifications. I think I replaced the...

Looks exactly like mine. Truck has plenty of power, even when towing heavy. I don't really worry about it. Only one minor issue I have is starting. I think it should start faster, but I blame that on the AC60G glow plugs. I think the extended glow time modification will fix that. I'm thinking...

    New Oil cooler/lines install

I just replaced the o-rings on mine the other day. FEL-PRO ES73229. I ordered it from Rock Auto.

    Dented front crossmember

    I took them out.

    Dented front crossmember

Maybe you're right. I guess I was kinda hoping that this would explain my troubles. I'd rather find another cause for my issues...

    Dented front crossmember

Unfortunately shops like that don't really exist over here. Wish I was in the US or even the UK. Shops like that seem to be more common there. Custom exhaust shops, custom leaf spring shops, custom driveshafts, etc... Would make having 2 Chevy project trucks a lot easier. I will have a look at...

    Dented front crossmember

I was resealing the oil pan and I took a closer look at this dent in the front crossmember that has been bugging me for a while. It's hard to find reference pictures, but eventually I found 1 picture and also a YouTube video of a lift kit install where I could see the crossmember from...

    Custom trailer hitch

To be honest, the lift will purely be for aesthetic reasons. I know for towing it would be better to keep it as is.

    Custom trailer hitch

Any ideas about the following: Adding a lift kit has been on my mind for a while. Unfortunately I had to delay this project. Anyway, I was looking at combining the Rough Country 4" lift kit with a shackle flip from Offroad Design. Now with this new hitch, the shackle flip gets a little more...

    Custom trailer hitch

I couldn't say if it happened before or after I got the truck. Maybe both. I mainly tow drawbar trailers, so I don't usually have a lot of tongue weight on the hitch, but they are heavy and with such short mounting and being tall I can see how the receiver hitch can be pushed into the frame like...

    Custom trailer hitch

It is very short indeed. I have not seen a data plate on there. I think these where made for or by the company that imported these trucks back in the. They are very odd. Same with K30's. I've seen multiple around here with a receiver hitch that looked custom made, but I've seen them on more...

    Custom trailer hitch

I took some pictures of the existing hitch and crossmember. In the first 2 pictures you can see how it is pushing up against the frame. That has been on my mind and with you also mentioning it, I think I will. Plus, any extra weight back there will be useful, especially when towing. One...
