    OT: Floor Jacks and Jackstands?

This is the first "heavy duty" truck I've had... so all my jacks and stands are of the puny 2-ton variety. I've looked at whats out there, but I though I'd ask here first. What's everyone using for (capacity wise), for jacks and stands? -P '94 Suburban 6.5L 2500 "HD" 3/4 Ton

HO Water Pump with single thermostat crossover?

Found the leak... turned out the the thermostat cross over bolt was loose from a battery cable replacement. It was then leaking from front, and running along the intake, before finally running down the back of the block. Still going to do the upgrade to the HO pump though! -P

HO Water Pump with single thermostat crossover?

The side/end of the head. Not on the valley side. On a newer LSx engine, they keep the grounds there, where the alternator would bolt to on the front of the head. -P

HO Water Pump with single thermostat crossover?

Whew... I was worried about it being on the side of the head (the side) facing the firewall... that would have been a job. -P

HO Water Pump with single thermostat crossover?

    I want the 97-99 6.5L pump, right? -P

HO Water Pump with single thermostat crossover?

With my recent starter issues out of the way, I found another issue to tackle... A leak. I'm losing a pint every couple of days or so. I'm going to start with the cheaper (and easier) parts first. So, what I'd like to do is eventually (with funds permitting), move to the upgraded system...

Suburban slow starts.... acts dead(ish), then fires up.

It *was* the starter! I replaced the 3 cables I could get my hands on (FYI: CompNines catalog was 100% dead on, even though dealer thought I was on crack with the PNs I used). Have to admit, the new cable from battery to starter (88860073) was noticeably thicker than the old one, being 0/2...

Suburban slow starts.... acts dead(ish), then fires up.

Got the three cables... I think I got ones that were similar applications... Not exact (I guess). The starter one matched up exactly. The parts guy I got the parts from made me wait 1/2hr while he slowly looked up a part for a Saturn (I'd prepaid the parts). Slowest. Dealer. Ever. If I ever...

Suburban slow starts.... acts dead(ish), then fires up.

Whelp... no start this morning at all.... I mean... it was like the starter was hooked up to a dead battery. I've got 3 of the 4 cables coming in today (just missing the "bridge" cable). I'll update with what I find out. Only pain about owning an older rig, you're fixing what someone else...

Suburban slow starts.... acts dead(ish), then fires up.

OK... Pulled the batteries and had them tested... They came out 100% good. (1.5yr old Duralast Golds) So... cables? -P

Suburban slow starts.... acts dead(ish), then fires up.

Haven't done the grounds... other than the battery terminals. Right now I'm trying to source some cables... (Should help, right?) -P

Suburban slow starts.... acts dead(ish), then fires up.

After making my morning drive in, and getting my morning coffee at the local AM-PM, I hop in and crank the Burb over. She lugs and lugs and sounds like the batteries are dead. Weird... this is new. I mean, she starts slower recently, but I'd checked that off as the weather. I give her a...

OT: No interior lights when doors are open.

Admittedly, you were right. After cleaning up all the crappy wiring from the PO (and the PO before that), I figured it was something heinous. It also didn;t help that I only saw pics of "dome overrides" when they showed the 95+ interior. So... Now that that is settled.... Where can I get a...

OT: No interior lights when doors are open.

W00t! That was it! Thanks, Haggar! I took a length of wire, stripped the ends and shoved it in. And voila! It's GM part number 15607064. According to my local GM dealer, it's disco'd with no locate info available. Peh! Off to the junkyards! -P
